Being a TV demon in the 1950s meant that Vox’s voice originally turned out a lot of static, much like Alastor’s, and it made him difficult to understand until he met Alastor and learned to control it. Still, his body always has a whirring noise that he can’t control, and there’s always a faint static humming come from his face and throat.

Anyone who sleeps with him has complained about it to some degree, with some not even being able to stay in bed after sex because of how there’s that noise in the background and they can’t concentrate or actually get to sleep.

Vox has always cursed it, in fact, until the day you came along.

At first, he hated it more because you were a serious relationship waiting to happen, and he actually liked you a frightening amount. He didn’t want you to get annoyed by him or think he just saw you as another slut he ushered out of his room after sex.

He’s just about to say you should leave his room if you’re tired (but he’s planning to have a massive sulk regarding it), when you tilt your head and squint.

“Is that noise coming from you?” Light blue dusts his screen and he looks away.

“Can’t fucking control it, so don’t ask me to-”

You just snuggle into his chest, right below all the sounds he’s tried to repress for seventy years. He falters and almost drops the cigarette from his hands.

“Perfect. I always needed white noise to sleep.”

If he glitches out from blushing and thinking maybe his cause of death wasn’t a bad thing if it brought you comfort, you’re already fast asleep and won’t know you’ve made him grin more than a Winner ever would in Heaven.
