Core Project #5 - VR 5 x 5, Week 2

I spent this week finalizing the concept of the room and the placement of furniture and decorations. I also modeled some very simple, low-poly tools for Prince Egon’s desk and we slowly started to put the big picture together.

Core Project #5 - VR 3 x 3, Week 1

This was a group project and the members of my group were Vitor, Theo, Chandan, Jessi and myself. We spent the first week coming up with our characters. I created Francis the Carrot, but we ended up choosing Theo’s Prince Egon. We shared our ideas on Miro and then I made a few rough sketches of possible layouts for the character’s room and some silhouetting.

VR Game- Problems with VR My butterfly coding did not take too kindly with the VR. Even with one trigger, the butterflies spawned and swarmed the room so we made the decision to remove the butterflies fully so that the player could enjoy the rest of the room.

VR Game- Sounds As well as adding ambient swamp noises, I felt it was necessary to add sounds to objects you know sound would come from. I found, edited soundtracks and then placed them in the game. I then altered the sound radius so you will not hear the pot bubbly and the fire crackling in the entire room but only when you are a reasonable distance from the fire and pot.

VR Game- Playing the Banjo Another really difficult endeavor was picking up the banjo and playing it! Since the banjo is pickable, this limited what I could attach to it in such as an audio trigger in the blueprint. I think (and hope) the banjo plays as intended.
