The Vrill are one race and many. Originally human their ancestors resorted to radical bioengineering to survive on a planet devoid of metals and heavy elements. The classical human shape was remoulded into hundreds of forms, each to suit a particular role. The Zsch are the soldiers of the Vrill conglomerate, each standing 3 meters tall and armoured with an impact and heat resistant exoskeleton. They are a match for any solider from a technologically advanced culture. Every Zsch is paired with a foetal grub carbine at birth. A mature Grub carbine, also a heavily modified offshoot of the humanity, is able to fire crystallised toxins at hundreds of meters per second. Even if the crystal projectile misses its target the ensuing cloud of atomised toxins will cause hallucinations and burns to any not wearing protective gear. As the two organisms grow they fuse to form a symbiotic relationship, the parasitic foetus relies on the Zsch for nutrients and protection and in return the Zsch is free to use the grub as a biological weapon.\
