-- The Traditions --
Believed by some Kindered to be handed down by Caine himself, The Traditions are the fundemental laws of The Camarilla, whom have historically been one of the most powerful groups since the 15th Century. Their influence is so wide that most Kindered cultures have been touched by The Traditions, such as presentation, the Blood Hunt, the parcelling of land and, most vitally, The Masquerade. A rough equivalent under the Sabbat is the Code of Milan and Anarch societies maintain order by following related, more mutable rules. In modern nights, the local Prince fulfills the role of the Elder.
First Tradition - The Masquerade -
'Thou shall not reveal thy true nature to those not of the blood.' Doing so shall renounce thy claims of the blood. [Hide the existance of vampires.]
Second Tradition - The Domain -
'Thy domain is thine own concern.' All others owe thee respect in it. None may challenge thy word in thy domain. [A Kindered's hunting ground is their own territory, and they rule is absolutely.]
Third Tradition - The Progeny -
'Thou shall only sire another with the permission of thy Elder.' If thou createth another without thine Elder's leave, both thou and thy progeny shall be slain. [Sire only with the permission of ones Elders.]
Fourth Tradition - The Accounting -
'Those thou create are thine own children.' Until thy progeny shall be released, thou shall command them in all things. Their sins are thine to endure. [Until childer are released, their actions are the responsibility of their sire, giving insentive to mentor them.]
Fifth Tradition - The Hospitality -
'Honour one another's domain.' When thou comest to a foreign city, present thyself to the one who ruleth there. Without the word of acceptance, thou art nothing. [Honour the domains of others, and present oneself to the ruler of any domain entered.]
Sixth Tradition - The Destruction -
'Thou art forbidden to destroy another of thy kind.' The right of destruction belongeth only to thine Elder. Only the Eldest amongst thee shall call the Blood Hunt. [The right to kill a Kindered is reserved for the Eldest in a community. Only they may call for a Blood Hunt.]
