Re-listening to Impera and "Respite on the Spitalfields" specifically. Funny thing about the line "The king that we hailed was the Wizard of Oz".

There's this sci-fi fantasy movie from the 1970s called Zardoz and there's an interview from the Special Ghoul era in which Special Ghoul says that the band would frequently smoke weed together and watch this movie. It is widely hailed as a Weird Movie, sometimes a So Bad It's Good Movie.

It involves a society that worships a god called Zardoz. Most people can't read, but the protagonist learns how, and in the process, he learns that "Zardoz" is derived from "The WiZARD of OZ" and is a false god, something he finds earth-shatteringly disappointing.

That part of the movie is DEFINITELY where that line from "Respite on the Spitalfields" is from.

Additionally: if you're angelkin and you serve a god and you're the only angel in this life who does, how do you deal with that?

If I can't connect with being an angel outside the context of genuine beliefs, then that's okay because I do have beliefs that allow for the existence of angels, but I'm the only person I know who has those beliefs (outside of someone else in another system I know who got those beliefs from me but he doesn't front much)

What do you do with the fact that you're an angel in a way that nobody else is and that nobody else understands?

I don't really know how to learn more about my type of angel other than pray to my god for more knowledge and maybe make things up for myself (since my god allows for that)...but it will still feel strange to be the only one. Nobody else believes exactly what I believe. I don't think anybody else would or will. I don't know what I'd do if they did.

How do you deal with being the only one whose angel-ness looks like yours does? With being the only one whose concept of being an angel looks like yours? How do you do that?

Hey do we think Perpetua has new Ghouls or is it the same Ghouls as Copia had. If the former, what tags do I check to find out what people are calling them so I can work with them in my headcanons?

Hey @ non-religious angelkin: what's that like?

By which I mean...do you relate your angel-ness to something other than religion? Do you treat the religion from which your type of angel originates as mythology/fictional rather than your actual beliefs? Especially for angelkin who used to be religious and were angelkin when they were religious but aren't religious anymore.

I left Christianity a few years ago and was angelkin under its framework but lost touch with that since I left it and didn't feel like I could still be an angel but didn't really identify with being a fallen angel because, in the tradition I grew up with, that's fully synonymous with "demon" and I don't feel connected to demons (at least currently; my system recently split alters who might cause that to change but it can't be counted on).

I'd like to reconnect with being angelkin, but since it was always tied up in religion to me, I don't really know how to do that anymore or if that's even possible. I'm not an angel of God anymore and can't be ever again but I don't know if I fully identify with being an angel of Satan either. So if anyone knows anything about being angelkin outside of being religious or having positive associations with God, I'd like to hear about that.

I'm gonna be honest I'm really not fond of the argument in favor of shipping Terzo and Copia that goes "even if you ship them as half-brothers, they most likely weren't raised with each other and didn't meet each other until they were adults, so it's okay to ship them".

Like. You can defend incest fiction without suggesting that relationships like that are okay to do in real life. Without saying things that might seriously fuck some people up if they saw it.

I say this as someone who considers themself to romanticize incest but people really do need to be more mindful of the way they talk about incest, particularly if it's in a context or in a way that could be applied to anything other than fiction.

Even when you're talking about fictional incest, you can still discuss fictional incest in a way that can be applied to reality as well, and if what you're saying applies to fictional and only fictional incest, you NEED to phrase things in a way so that there can be NO ambiguity about what you mean.

Not that anyone cares but part of the reason we've basically left the Ghost fandom was because we realized that, the more Tobias Forge tried to both introduce and wrap up the lore (doing both at the same time, somehow), the more our perception of what Ghost was, and therefore what we liked about Ghost, was no longer the media that it actually is, or ever was at any point.

While anyone has the right to tell basically any story in any way, we disagreed, on an artistic level, with the way the story of Ghost was now being told, and we understood we would be happier if we gave more of our time and attention to media that didn't make us go "this thing would be so good if it were good".

The thing I find most compelling about Ghost that's still actually in it is the premise that there's a Satanic church/cult in the mainstream, but I frankly find that idea so generic (especially if you decoupled it from Catholicism or even just the pope in specific) that, if I have the need to revisit this concept, I'll just make up my own story and loosely base it on my own experiences with Protestantism and everything I've learned from reading about IRL cults.

Thinking about how to write the Perpetua part of my AU and I've run into the problem where, while what I WANT is for Copia and Perpetua to eventually have a happy healthy sibling relationship as adults, I don't know what that would actually look like and I'm scared I can't tell the story I want to tell

Also I've said this before I think but I've begun to perceive romance as a form of mental illness and I'm not 100% sure what it would take to fix that
