Langblr Reactivation Challenge || Week 1 || Day 2 challenge by @prepolyglot
Write a list of goals you have for your target languages. Make both long term and short term goals. An overall goal could be to have the ability to talk with native speakers with ease and a smaller goal would be to finally learn that difficult grammar point that’s been plaguing you for ages. How will you achieve them?
Persian
Long term goals (6 months or so): 1. Increase my vocabulary by 500-800 words 2. Move up a reading level (and by that token, have enough vocab to know how words are pronounced) 3. Be able to understand any video/podcast/speaker talking about a variety of subjects at least 80% each time
Short term goals (3 months or so): 1.Keep consistent with 30 minutes of listening 4-days of the week 2.Finish the children's book I borrowed from the library like 2 months ago 😬 3. Commit the list of terms my tutor gave me to memory and us them in my practice before my next session
Portuguese
Long term goals: 1. Be able to run an evaluation with minimal assistance from an interpreter 2.Be able to hold a simple conversation with a friend or tutor 3. Move up a reading level from my current level
Short term goals: 1. Learn how/when to pronounce certain sounds as affricates versus stops 2.Find a tutor I like 3.Read one story from the book I have a week 4. Exposure to at least 30 minutes spoken Portuguese for 3 days a week
I will achieve these goals by remaining consistent, mostly. I will also have to make some changes to my schedule and the materials that I have.
