Yay I did it! The dreaded W5D3 of C25k! My pace was MUCH better than I thought it would be, I started out slow and kept a fairly steady pace, speeding up in the last few minutes. My run pace was a full minute faster than my run pace for both the 8 minute run days and 5 minute run days. So I’m pretty pumped and proud of myself. It helps that I haven’t run in a few days and today was a pretty lazy day.
I had the day off, but had to go in for a meeting with my manager (a check in meeting that everyone has to do) and then went and saw Friend Request! It was bad! What a shock! My appetite is mostly back under control now as well. I did get a medium popcorn at the movie because I had a coupon to make it the same price as the junior that I normally get. It was too much! I didn’t eat it all by any means, but I ate enough to feel gross. hahaha, I definitely prefer the junior size where you can eat it all and still feel good. I also got a large soda and probably drank half to 3/4 of it. Moral of the story, just get the smaller stuff unless you’re gonna share. Coupon Shmoupon, just get the smaller size!
Tomorrow starts my new scary schedule at work. I work 12:30-9, which is way longer than I normally work, so wish me luck!

How awesome! I did cheat slightly when it came to a huge hill that was just too much mentally. But I’m really happy with today’s run. The drizzle was a huge bonus in cooling me down :)
I’m going to repeat week 5 because it really wasn’t a confident week for me, but I’m still feeling great about it anyway :D

We had to do problems we did the first week of App Academy, but in Javascript today. I had a patient partner who was willing to take it easy and explain things to me, since he'd gotten a bit ahead on the material, so that was really nice.
It was a tough day in terms of material though. I'm not used to Javascript yet, and at one point, all the parenthesises, semi-colons, and brackets sort of merged together into a big blur.
Javascript feels like it's going to be tougher to transition into. The material given for it feels pretty bare-bones, and I don't feel like it'll have some of the enjoyability I had when working on 99Cats and the Reddit clone, where I felt like I had enough to contribute so I could feel less like the weaker pair for once. But we'll see how it goes.
So for now, I don't have very much to say about it, but I do plan on studying over the weekend a lot and taking advantage of not having to worry about the next assessment for a while.
Good night.

Today I Learned: about JavaScript basics.
Today was an odd day. We did not have a lecture; however, we did have bagels. We had another solo day as we worked on finishing up our Rails Lite project and ActiveRecord project. These exercises were meant to demystify the magic of Rails and help us gain a better understanding of the underpinnings of Rails.
We finished up with our Rails curriculum today and are now proficient in Rails. With that, we will begin the next portion of the curriculum - JavaScript.
I spent the evening working on JavaScript problems and doing required readings and prepartion.

We had a retake on the assessment today and I passed with time to spare. Felt good. More work on the Rails Lite project today. I dug around in Rails and found out that Rails, sadly, is not made of magic. I was fairly convinced that there was some sorcery going on under the hood, but it turns out it's just some regular ol' code. It's hard to believe it's our last day of Rails today. We had Q&A session for any unanswered questions we had leaving the curriculum. I clarified polymorphic associations. I want to learn about setting up SSL (but after a/A!)
