if he could he would spend all of his time watching you play

he loves sitting right behind your team's bench and cheering for you whenever you block the other team

he'll be the loudest in the crowd

no matter what

seriously he'd probably try to train his voice to be able to yell and cheer for you louder

he's shown up to several race weekends with no voice at all to be honest

his team isn't the most thrilled until they figure out that actually people think it's very cute that he tries to support you so much

he loves seeing you in your gear

although he will wince whenever you bend in an ... interesting way to block the puck

he's always amazed that it doesn't hurt you to do that

of course he knows that you train for it

you wince whenever he does his neck training so it's only fair

he also loves watching your teammates all hug and pat you after the game is over

will absolutely help you practice by shooting pucks at you except that his aim is not the greatest

honestly you get better practice just going skating with him

especially because he's so giggly and trips and tries to hang onto you just about all the time

every time you get off the ice after a game he jumps on you

with absolutely no reservations

he knows that a) he can't hurt you with all that padding and b) you're strong enough to catch him anyway

they're the unexpected duo of the '25 grid. maybe see each other at a game and find out they're both dating players for the same team. as soon as they realise this it becomes impossible to separate them. kimi is always talking to lance about how well their boyfriends' team did or how much you got screwed by the ref. they will never think either of you played badly even if you did.

lance is nodding sagely while kimi rants about you getting bloodied up on the ice because he's had the internal struggle of "i hope he's okay" and "god he looks hot" about a million times.

franco colapinto is confident that he’ll be almost as good as you are, and then trips on his shoelaces before he even puts his skates on. he’ll stumble around the ice with one of those little kiddie training things. the second he lets go though he’ll fall.

gabriel bortoleto ends up almost accidentally doing the splits because he underestimated how slippery the ice was. he’ll stick by the wall for the rest of the afternoon and you’ll have to kiss his face a bunch before he stops sulking.

kimi antonelli is pretty good at the basics, but he gets too excited and tries to keep up with you. big mistake. he’ll fall over and then insist you give him a piggy back ride while skating because you’re a good boyfriend.

ollie bearman is like a baby deer getting his legs. he’s so uncoordinated that he just gives up on trying to do it right. if you’re skating outside he’ll probably just end up making angels in the snow while he watches you.

paul aron is actually not a bad skater on a regular day, but seeing you in your element while you actually have time to be grinning at him is not a regular day. he’s fine … fine … and, oh, falling on his face.

first of all, logan is very sympathetic after you lose your match. he really is! he'll reassure you that it's not your fault (or at the very least, not solely your fault) and give you plenty of consolatory kisses. and when you tell him you won't be playing the next couple games, he's a little sad for you.

but then, of course, he wants to cheer you up. logan will beam at you and probably literally jump into your arms. he will then very happily proclaim that you finally have enough time to spend all day cuddling with him. logan will probably have the two of you watching a marathon of some movie franchise or tv series. you've definitely binge watched friends with him more than once. he's a sucker for a good sitcom.

during this marathon, by the way, logan will be completely on top of you no matter what. he's lying on you, sitting on your lap, there's maybe an hour's total between your first game and when you next play that you aren't physically touching logan. hell, he'd even have you give him piggybacks around the supermarket.

kimi's been spotted at a lot of nhl games that season. like, every canadiens game that doesn't clash with a race weekend. nobody really suspects anything because yes the fandom has a lot of gay ships but nobody really thinks the drivers are gay.

you have your own fanbase, obviously. i'd say a solid 80% of your fanbase are actual hockey fans. the remaining 20% are just people who are losing their minds and dignity over you being 6'7". there's also actual hockey fans who still lose their minds over you. as they should tbh

then your team wins the stanley cup. all the other players have their girlfriends celebrating with them and it's just one of those moments where something clicks for both you and kimi. you lock eyes and you're both so tired of having to pretend like you're not boyfriends. it's not really a thought-out decision. it's not impulsive either. it's just something that both of you need to do.

before anyone else really processes what's happening, kimi runs to you and jumps into your arms and you're kissing and it just feels right.
