Landlords are like "if my renters don't pay, I could lose my house!"
Well, maybe if you hadn't bought a second - third, fourth, etc - house you couldn't afford you wouldn't be in this predicament. Shoulda planned ahead and had savings to take care of it.
We’ve got some bad news for you on Labor Day: your boss is exploiting you. Karl Marx explains how.
A long read, but what better way for our friends celebrating Labor Day to spread some class consciousness amongst them.
Sure, celebrate Labor Day if you're lucky enough to have the day off. Perhaps if you have to work, you may even earn time and a half.
But these are crumbs from the master's table.
Your boss is exploiting you. Organise and unionise!
ok so you may not want to "perform labour" for the rest of your life or at least until you retire at 65 odd but maybe the kind of labour you don't want to do is one where you are subject to exploitation 40 hours a week otherwise you starve or end up homeless. maybe you would feel indifferent or actually like working if it meant getting paid a living wage and having the opportunity to do something you enjoy. you most likely wouldn't want to stay at home & not work if it meant that your individual abilities were properly taken into account and social housing was more widely available and you weren't just one or two wage payments away from being homeless or having to move back to your parents house.
"if it were that way then nobody would want to do the shitty jobs that need filling" the shitty jobs wouldn't be so shitty with more money a better chance at social mobility and a holistic approach to creating a supportive environment for people who actually work there
