How do we feel about the possibility of me making this story into an original fiction piece focusing on Roxy's transformation from horror protagonist to horror villain and her fucked up relationship with the eldritch entity that pushes her past her breaking point.

Waking Nightmares//Open RP

Paranoia couldn't even begin to describe what he was feeling. All morning he'd been on edge and it only kept getting worse.

At first it was little things like shadows lurking just on the edge of his peripheral vision that disappeared from sight as soon as he turned his head. Then it was strange figures that seemed to follow him around as he made his way to school. If he looked away from one for only a moment, the next time he looked they would be gone.

However, now that he was sitting in class they only escalated. The paint on the walls looked as though is was peeling away to reveal hidden bloody flesh underneath. In some patches there was bare chain link mesh. The eeriest part was how calm and normal everyone else was acting.

Why is no one seeing this?! What the hell is going on?! he asked himself as he cast his eyes about the room, looking over each classmate. They were all so blissfully unaware of the horror he was seeing.

Something caught his attention. Above their teacher something was coming out of the ceiling. At first only a clawed hand was visible as it gripped the edge of the hole it was going to emerge from. Todoroki froze in place, eyes fixated on the ceiling. Almost painfully slowly the creature’s head came into view. There were bloody stitched holding its eyes shut. Its mouth opened inhumanly wide, displaying jagged broken teeth, blood dripping down onto the teacher, but he never even flinched. No one else could see it either.

Todoroki shut his eyes tight hoping it would vanish along with the rest of the vile images. The sudden sound of the school bell jolted him, his eyes flashing open.

At first he expected to see the creature right in his face, but everything was...

Normal.

There was no sign of the monster he’d seen, and there was no peeling paint, or exposed bloodied walls. As the students started to mill about, waiting for the next teacher to come in, Todoroki stood up from his seat and fled the room as quickly as he could.

His face was pale and sweaty, his breathing somewhat ragged from panic and fear. He ran into the restroom to splash some water on his face. Standing at the sink he braced his hands on either side of it, letting the water drip off him for a few moments. Turning his face up to the mirror he saw the creature hanging from the ceiling behind him. Without even looking behind him he ran.

As soon as he was out of the restroom he ran straight into someone, startling himself even more. He shrank back from the person, checking behing him to see if the thing had followed before looking at the other.

“I-I’m sorry... I should have been looking where I was going...”

Merdiemere: Ah, it feels good to have my body back. I suppose introductions are in order. I am Merdiemere, a nightmare general who serves our glorious queen nightmare moon. With my specialty in dark magic i act as her lead necromancer, which is a pretty nifty trick when cheating death, though it leaves you feeling rather stiff after a few thousand years.

but enough about me i’m sure you are more interested in what will be happening to you. You see our queen happens to need a new pyromancer and you are lucky enough to be that pyromancer but first she needs your obedience and that’s where i come in. Atm you are probably noticing an immense amount of pain going through your head, well that’s an...unfortunate side effect...of ‘acquiring’ said obedience. Now if you’ll excuse me i need to root around in your head for a moment to speed things along, so if you’ll excuse me.

Hm this memory seems a little fuzzy, you must have been trying hard to forget this one. The day your parents died, it filled you with so much rage knowing that fix it was responsible for their deaths and blamed you. Our queen could help you bring him to justice for all the suffering he’s caused you.

Such a sweet memory, you even had plans to marry each other. But then she left forever without a word, how sad. Our queen could help you forget all the bad memories easily.

And now you’ve finally found someone new who completes you. But you know you aren’t worthy, it’s only a matter of time before she leaves you too. Our queen can ensure she stays by your side forever.
