my druidry

My Druidry is a reverence for nature as sacred.

Sacred does not mean safe.

Sacred means that there is something more in nature than what meets the eye. It means that it has a spirit, and spirits, that meet me there and soothe my soul.

My Druidry is a walking meditation on life.

My Druidry is walking gently in this world and caring for even the smallest things as if each act was a prayer.

But prayer need not be stuffy. Laughter, fun, games, and sex can be prayer. Prayer is touching the divine. It is not, of necessity, something that uses words.

My Druidry means that I recycle because I care deeply for this world that I am a part of.

My Druidry means that I vacuum the corners because my living room is sacred space.

My Druidry means that I honor the crow sitting on the wire and the dandelion in the crack of the sidewalk as fellow beings. I do not harm anything unnecessarily.

My Druidry means that I am focused on the here and now and live in the moment instead of worrying about what happens after death.

I love Druidry. I love this path that I walk.
