“Why?” Emmy asked curiously, “Papa has legs, and he’s a giant.”

"True but-" Bruce pushed up his glasses before flipping the pages of his notebook decently far back "According to Mr Sonata-" Croo perked up at his papa's name "-Mers grow according to the what they eat but also the size of their environment. Now that he has a bigger environment what's to stop him from growing even bigger? Or would the change in his physiology change those perimeters. He is essentially the only one of his kind so there's no way to know how it will effect him."

The young mer blinked in confusion at all the unfamiliar words but made a little noise of uncertainty. He didn't know what they all meant but they made him uneasy.
