Hii! I had a funny idea actually for the welcome home characters. What if they saw us without makeup for the first time? Coming from someone who wears makeup in public all the time, simply because I feel naked without it. You can write this in whatever scenario you’d prefer!

If you don’t want to do this or just don’t like it, please just ignore this!

Anyways! Thank you if you do even do this!

Ended up just doing this with Wally, because I feel like he'd be the type to wear makeup.

Seeing you without makeup

★ The first time he saw you without makeup, he tilted his head. Looking you over quietly. Not judging you. But taking in the sight. "Neighbor? Are you trying a new look? I think it's lovely." He says, being completely sincere.

★ You know, Wally also wears makeup. Some eyeshadow here, a little foundation there. He thinks it makes him look charming. (And he's right.) If Wally can paint on a canvas. Why can't he paint his face too?

★ He doesn't understand why you feel embarrassed without yours. To him, seeing you like that is like hearing the birdsong before opening his window. A gentle, pleasant start to the day.

★ Whenever you're running late, trying to get your eyeliner to cooperate, he sits by the door and waits patiently for you to finish. "Take your time." Wally hums out. Really, he'd hate to rush you.

★ Trust me, he gets it. Wally would never leave the house without putting on his face. But he only hopes you'd be just as patient with him, because he has his own routine.

★ Every day Wally uses the same brushes, the same colors, mirror, pallet and comb. All carried out with practiced skill. and If you wanted, Wally might offer to help you with your mascara. He has very steady hands. His hands are very steady. You know that because you’ve watched him draw.

In your opinion do you think Wally would like animals if so which ones

I think bugs! Like, baby cicadas!

Like… look at em. (sorry if you have a phobia…)

But if were talkin’ fluffy sorta animals and likewise… raccoons! I feel like he’d like how they’re kinda chaotic and how they have rings around their eyes. Animals with pretty eyes / fur patterns around the eyes, basically!

He’d just stare at em intensely, then cuddle them (if he can without getting ripped apart..)

This is probably silly but I can’t help but think of something akin to putting the puppets in Welcome Home in air jail. (If you’re still writing for that fandom.”) I know Barnaby, Poppy and maybe Howdy are really big puppets but I imagine you might be able to carry Sally, Frank, Eddie Julie, and definitely Wally. So if they’re in danger or just doing something that would end up probably in disaster, you can just… scoop and remove them from the situation.

This particularly scratches an itch in my brain cause I used to be more physically fit and one of the taller kids and used to pick up my friends all the time. It’s dumb but I miss that.

Anyway, sorry for the ramble, if you wouldn’t mind, could you please write head cannons for the neighbors reaction to reader just picking them up? Thank you; have a lovely day.

Now that I think about it, you could probably hold Wally and Sally at the same time. It wouldn't be that hard. And don't worry, I'm always writing for welcome home! It's my comfort series right now.

Putting Wally, Julie, Frank and Sally in air jail

Wally

★ As soon as you scoop him up, he goes completely limp. Arms falling to his side like a ragdoll. "Oh! I'm up here now." He blinks slowly, head tilting up to meet yours. "You're warm." Wally adds. Pointing it out for no particular reason.

★ He sees this as perfectly normal. Just another day for Wally. Barnaby picks him up all the time. He's tried to do the same. But Barnaby is heavier than he should be. Especially for such a small pooch.

★ Throughout everything, not once does his smile falter. And if you hold him long enough, he'll rest his head on your shoulder. Grinning with a smile in his eyes.

Julie

★ She lets out a high-pitched giggle, clearly exited, wrapping her arms around your neck in a loose hold. "Are we playing a game?" Julie asks. Although it sounds more like a statement than a question.

★ To that, you spin her around. Because why not? Julie hugs your neck a little tighter. Laughing into your shoulder. Well, it looks like she won't be letting go anytime soon.

★ All the neighbors are fairly lightweight. Being filled with cotton and polyester. Picking them up feels like lifting a big plushie. Frank hates that comparison. He insists it's inaccurate. Julie loves it. She thinks it sounds cozy.

Frank

★ Put him down. Put him down. Put him down. He does not like being picked up. "Don't do that again!" Frank almost yells. His head spinning like a merry-go-round. Yeah... Maybe don't pick him up? At least not without permission.

★ Whatever he did, it certainly wasn’t worth being put into air jail. At least he thinks so. It's likely that you had to pull Frank away from something, before he could get the chance to lose his cool. Stepping between him and yet another squabble with Barnaby.

★ It's a little unnerving how easily you lifted him. Eddie needed to catch his breath after picking Barnaby up. But not you. You didn't seem affected. He isn’t sure how to feel about that.

Sally

★ If you hadn't made yourself known, her first instinct would’ve been to kick you with a startled yelp. "You can't sneak up on neighbors like that!" She'll feel bad about it later. But right now, she's huffy that you caught her off guard.

★ She's pleasantly surprised by how easily you can hold her on your shoulders. Barnaby carries Wally like that, sometimes. And Sally must admit, It's quite a view from up there! Makes her feel like a queen looking down upon her kingdom!

★ In the future, expect her to want to be carried. This is your own fault. You showed her what being tall feels like. Just let her have her fun.

This is such an adorable idea! I honestly think Wally has never gone on a date before. And you would be his first. (Like he was waiting to meet the right person?)

A date with Wally

★ There might be three places he can think of to take you on a date. At least if he plans on staying in the neighborhood. Wally could bring you to Howdy's Place for a drink (of soda, of course,) or to his Home for a lovely dinner date. Those are the only things that come to mind for him.

★ Honestly it might be best if you ask him first. Not the other way around. It saves both of you a bit of trouble. Because, despite trying his best, Wally can be a little awkward sometimes.

★ Once you've gotten past that first hurdle, he then finds another. Deciding on what to wear. He held up several shirts in front of the mirror. Talking to Home as he tries to choose something.

★ "They like blue. But this one is very me." He picks up something else. "Oh, but this one is also very me." A different article of clothing catches his eye. And the cycle repeats for about an hour. He ends up with a pile of clothes on the floor, and Wally is calling Barnaby for help.

★ Wally showed up fashionably late. Being off by five minutes exactly. Remember. Five minutes is fashionable, ten minutes would be rude. Wally spent that extra time adjusting his collar so it would look just right.

★ When he finally arrives, he hands you a bouquet of flowers tied together with ribbon. Finished with a neat bow. Wally picked them himself!

★ If you go to Howdy’s, Wally picks the seat with the best lighting. He sits up straight with perfect posture. And of course he insists on paying the bill himself. Like any gentleman should.

★ If the date is at his Home, Wally walks you to and from. Even if you live right next door. Walking close enough that your hands brush. He keeps glancing at your hand like he wants to hold it. But is waiting for permission.

"Thank you for today." He says softly, leaning in.

"I had a wonderful time." Wally hesitated for a second. Before giving you a gentle "mwah" on the cheek.

You hum, pressing into it. Feeling the blush creep up on your face.

As you step inside, Wally smiles.

"Goodnight, darling."

"Goodnight, you."

He waits until the door closes before walking away.

Kisses for Wally

★ Knowing Wally, you should probably ask beforehand. You mentioned the idea a couple of days prior. Enough time for the surprise to still be there, but allowing him to expect it. Ask nicely and he'll give his consent. If you kissed him out of the blue, he'd just be confused.

★ "...What are you doing?" Wally asked. Frozen right where he stood. "Giving you a kiss!" Stealing a glance, you noticed the odd way he was holding himself. "I'm afraid you forgot to ask." Pointing it out like you’d made a simple mistake.

★ Wally's idea of a kiss is lightly pressing his closed mouth to someone while making an exaggerated *mwa* sound. But you do things a little differently.

★ Holding both of his hands in yours, slowly leaning down to meet his face. The height difference never really bothered you. Just means you have to get creative. letting go for a single moment, you drop to your knees in an attempt to make this whole situaton feel less awkward.

★ He closed his eyes, focusing on your touch. Breaking eye contact for the first time in forever. He hummed as you pressed a kiss to the side of his face. Content to soak in every bit of warmth you had for him.

★ Giving Wally a little kiss on the cheek is a surefire way to wake up with a bouquet at your door. Delivered by Eddie, no doubt. A pretty gift for you, because you gave him such a nice surprise yesterday!

i have this headcanon

it sorta goes along w flash comics.

y’know how when wally’s older + is the flash n stuff, he loses his speed for a while, as well as the ability to vibrate through stuff? it’s explained as “mental blocks”, over severely emotionally stressful situations, re: grief over barry.

but i headcanon that, as he starts to get older and stress/distress starts to take more of a physical toll, a precursor to those “mental blocks” are some of his powers jamming up. like losing control over his own vibrating molecules, and having shit blow up in his face. which is as FRUSTRATING as it is devastating to him.

imagine your whole world crumbling around you, and then you can’t even control your own body. y’know what they say though: when it rains, it pours.

My heart goes out to Wally.

His parents were

I won't say they weren't "good" parents. But they were more just... caretakers. Rudy was controlling, a con man, had unrealistic expectations for his son and blamed Wally for the faults that he saw in himself by placing them on Wally. Mary was controlling as well, though not quite like Rudy. She was definitely the warmer "caretaker", and had love for her son, but she babied him. She wanted a son. She smothered him the more he got older and independent, and, though tried to be open to his lifestyle, very clearly did not support him through it. On more than one occasion, she wished he was "normal", and wanted him to love her unfalliably with the same devotion he gave to his friends / the TT. Rudy just wanted a powerful son that would give him power and a good reputation for himself. 

They brought him up. They did see to his happiness. But they were strict, and Rudy definitely wasn't the "warm fuzzy" type. 

When he becomes the Flash, Rudy shows his true colors, along with Mary, and it just hurts. They weren't "abusive", but they brought him down.
