This was Liberty, a betta I had 9 years ago! (Omg where does the time go?) I had gotten him from Walmart, and although I didn't like supporting Walmart selling fish, I absolutely couldn't pass him up! He was such a beautiful and unique veiltail 😍

Walmart boy was looking spiffy last night! Pretty impressed tbh. Thinking of naming him Marty.... May change though. Still an ass to all the snails, especially the nerite.

I was at Walmart the other day after work and saw that some asshole had put two betta in the same cup. I couldn't find an employee around, so I looked EVERYWHERE for the cup missing a fish (they had like, 30 cups) and I finally found an empty, bone-dry cup shoved between some aquarium decor on another shelf. Obviously they had been like that for a while for that lidded cup to be that dry. I poured half the water from one cup into the dry one and then, because I couldn't pour one fish out without the other going with it, I had to scoop one out with my hand and plop her into the other cup. I really wanted to take that poor Cambodian girl home with me, but I just finished downsizing. Ugh. Made me so mad. And yes, while I was looking for the empty cup I double checked all the others to make sure they also didn't have "friends".
