Chris Evans and Michael Shannon reunite
I may just be misremembering, but I found it kind of weird that there’s no mention ever made of Harlan Thrombey’s wife and presumably the mother of his children in the entirety of Knives Out. Now, obviously, she could have died, but they explicitly mention his other son Neil having died as well. Never Mrs. Thrombey though. They could have gotten divorced, Harlan doesn’t seem like an easy man to be married to, but it’s strange that no one would ever bring that up, especially not Linda (who seems to take special pride in being her father’s favorite and “understanding him” more than anyone else) or Marta (who knew more about Harlan as a person instead of an ideal and would definitely know about a messy divorce, since he was feel so regretful near the end of his life).
My insane tinfoil hat theory is that Harlan was a trans man who never came out publicly, and rather just started living openly as a man when he began writing his books. All his kids are either adopted or, more befitting of someone as extra as him, he gave birth to all of them, always “going away on business” whenever he got too pregnant to hide it from his kids. “Mrs. Thrombey” was just his dead name scribbled on the birth certificate, because, hey, that’s technically true.
His mother figured it out immediately, but she loved him so she never said an unkind word about it. Marta knew because Harlan liked and trusted her, and also because he figured if she was gonna be shooting him up with morphine, she could also do his T shot. Young Benoit Blanc also clocked him immediately, but being a young southern boy in what was probably the 1970s or 80s, he didn’t really get what he’d figured out, so that led him on a big journey of self-discovery. I wanna say it’s impossible for his kids to have not found out at some point, but let’s be real here, it’d be absolutely hilarious if they didn’t. Harlan fed them some line about their mother dying and they bought it and never questioned the “business trips” that ended with souvenirs in the form of siblings.
someone get walt to teach him how to use a cane properly bc that man is making his broken foot worse.
first off, use crutches dude. that's in a boot, i don't think you're supposed to put weight on that. and even if its healed enough to walk on it, and he's using a cane for pain management, he is still not using it correctly.
when using a cane for pain management, you're supposed to use the cane on the opposite side of the hurt leg, and move it in unison with that leg. This takes the pressure off the hurt leg when walking/moving. he's using it on the same side, which is just putting pressure on the hurt leg.
no wonder buddy is limping around the whole time. also his cane is very nice and pretty and i am stealing it for my collection
Ever get hit with a crackship that you don’t really ship but the concept of it existing is idk necessary?
Yeah, so anyway
Walt Thrombey (Knives Out) x Dr Nat Sharp (Wake Up Dead Man) would be kinda cute

One of my favorite little things in Knives Out and an example of how little the Thrombeys thought of Marta is when the cops are going over the timeline provided by the family's memories, they say Marta left at midnight. It shows Walt's memory and has Marta walk out silently and then he checks his watch to notice the time. But in Marta's memory and what actually happened, Harlan specifically told her to call attention to the time when she left, and when she walks out she says "omg it's midnight already" and that makes Walt look at his watch. But in his memory, he decided independently to check the time. And Marta noting the time worked exactly how Harlan wanted it to. Bc no one pays attention to her at all.
what i love about the knives out movies is how realistic they are.
for example, the ensemble/background characters outside B.B and his partners are the most insufferable human beings ever put to screen and we either are or have met almost every single one of them in real life
