HELL yeah friend. Please enjoy some commentary alongside your selections.
Three songs that come up when you put your phone on shuffle:
Ave Nocturne by John A. Wilson (Quiet instrumental. Weirdly I always enjoy when this one comes on during long drives because it's a nice palate cleanser.)
Say You Love Me by Jessie Ware (This was in fact a rec from someone on tumblr when a bunch of people were discussing ship playlists!)
Dreamcatcher by Leonard Sumner (Recent addition to my spotify library. A bit repetitive lyrically, perhaps, but I can jam to it nonetheless.)
2. Three last songs you listened to:
Jackie and Wilson by Hozier (All three of these are off one of my driving playlists, but this one in particular is a GREAT driving song.)
Take Me Away by Lowdown Brass Band (Saw these guys live last year and this was my favourite of their songs.)
All Summer by Little Big Town (What a fun, catchy summer bop. Never get sick of it.)
3. Three songs you were recently obsessed with:
Autumn Town Leaves by Iron and Wine (The grip this song has on me at the moment is a phenomenon previously unknown to science. A cold wind comes and we wait, but it keeps going....)
Cheese by Clay and Friends ft. Kirouac and Kodakludo (Short, extremely fucking dumb, and extraordinarily catchy - exactly what you'd expect of a song half in French rap about smoking weed with a hot girl.)
When You're Driving Through The Moonlight / A Lovely Night by Julie Andrews (Some months ago I discovered that the original production of Cinderella is on youtube, filmed on what was apparently the narrowest stage in human history, and this is an earworm of the highest order. It's strange to see her so young, but that voice is so instantly recognizable even almost 70 years later.)
4. Three songs you know thanks to your parents:
Don't Stop Believing by Journey (This is the only one that is an immediate, no-doubt answer, partially because my parents aren't big music people and partially because I didn't listen to a lot of music as a kid due to the whole deaf thing.)
Purple Rain by Prince (I grew up in Minnesota. Enough said.)
Scarborough Fair/Canticle by Simon and Garfunkel (This is kind of stretching the prompt, but I know this song because my mom hates it.)
20. Three songs that remind you of the person who sends this one:
Literally the only debate I had here was which of two songs went first.
Given the one above, gee I wonder what could possibly be the second one.
I did actually have to think about the third one, but went with a classic: American Pie by Don McLean (old-guy-shrugs dot meme)
