"dammit... too high." darn snowflakes and their hard-to-reach hiding spots! the mall's lucky yuri could use a shiny new gift card for his holiday shopping, otherwise he would've moved on from this screw-up scavenger hunt a looong time ago.

"hey! you with the loud hat," yuri waves the stranger over with one hand, pointing up at the rafters with the other (always straight to the point, this guy). "you look easy enough to lift. scratch my back 'n i'll scratch yours?"

"Lighten up, this is supposed to be a happy occasion." Though she chides him, it's clear that it's only because she wants him to have a good time. He'd only just arrived and still probably felt a bit disoriented, but Nahida had only invited him to come along with her to perhaps brighten his mood. Wanderer took no pleasure in spending time with others, but she knew that he could hardly ever say no to her requests.

Unfortunately, he had managed to forego wearing a costume despite her insistence but the archon wasn't going to let that stop her from dressing up herself. As either of them stepped through the doors of the ballroom, the archon looked around; eyes sparkling as she admired the various Halloween decorations that entered the room. Her own costume, fairly simple by most standards, was still creative in its own right: a forest fairy complete with grassy wings that she'd created from vines made from her own dendro manipulation. Wanderer stands beside her, huffy as ever. "If you really don't want to be here, we only have to stay for a little while. Just try to at least have a little fun, okay?"

She holds the bone-made flute in her hands after tucking away the pull-tab around her neck under her blouse. The child places the bone flute against her lip gently and blows into it, creating a trill-like sound. It's gentle and soft in melody. She'd continue if it weren't for the fact that she felt a presence nearby. She stops and places the flute over her knee. "Do you make a habit to hide and watch people?"

WINTERFES: TERRES-TREE-AL DECORATING

As Kokomi placed the last Christmas decoration onto her tree, she stepped back to take a look at it fully and felt satisfied with her creation. Filled with various blues and reds on its branches, topped off with a crystal star that made it all come together. It was a nice tree, enough that a few people gathered around to pay her a few compliments. After a while, people disperse and move back to decorating their trees and Kokomi's left by herself, still admiring her work for a bit longer before she decides what she's going to do next.

That is until she feels that distinct feeling of being watched. Not closely, but still watched all the same. She looks to her left, and everyone seems to be focused on their trees, looking to her right, it seems to be the same for the most part, except for one young man who seemed to be paying her tree a few glances before turning back to his empty one. He almost looked…frustrated; as if he wasn't quite sure where to start.

And so what does she do? She moseys over to him, of course, and once she's in front of his box of decorations she quietly speaks up, "Is it your first time decorating a Christmas tree?" As she says so, she's already crouching down to retrieve a few decorations. "I had a hard time too my first time around. We don't celebrate Christmas on Watatsumi."

"What are you looking at me like that for? I know what day it is." Wanderer huffed for no reason in particular. Nahida's expression was her usual smile, but he felt like he could tell what she was thinking. When was the last time he'd done something like this? "...Here." A hastily wrapped package was pushed out towards the God of Wisdom. Inside was a white, knitted had with a pom pom on top, as well as a matching scarf and gloves. "Apparently it gets a lot colder here than Sumeru. You'll probably have a chance to use those... or whatever. I don't care if you don't. Happy Birthday or... whatever!"

"A gift? From you?" Nahida's faux surprised expression only earns her another mean eye from Wanderer, but she doesn't pay it any mind. That he'd even thought to get her a gift in the first place showed just how far he had come even if he were to readily deny it. A knitted hat with a matching scarf and gloves, something that she'd be needing soon! Though as much as she loves it, she can't help but look up at him in a little disappointment. "I love them but...I'd love it even more if you'd match with me!"

"So, I guess this means we're going to go shopping for a similar pair for you too, huh? Heh!"
