❛ what’s with that look ? ❜
prompts from the horrortale teaser
To her credit, Lycelle tried her best to be discreet. It is frowned upon to be noisy in the middle of seminars in Arrzaneth Ossuary, the same rule must apply to performances. Alas, fine ears aren’t easy to fool, and sneaking around has never been one of her strengths.
She forced out a sheepish smile. “ You have a lovely singing voice. ” A talent the dark knight herself doesn’t possess. Small comforts they are – the differences amidst their similar souls.
“Would you come back to haunt me?”
late nights // accepting.
“Absolutely.” Her expression stays still, no hint of her usual smile. She realizes the question may have been a genuine one. Much like herself, Akaela is a rather strange sort. And so Tsuru often meets her in kind when it comes to questions such as this. There is no hesitation in her answer, she means it when she says so. “I would be the most infuriating and unhelpful ghost that you have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.” Much unlike their prior friend and acquaintance, Ardbert at least made himself pleasant for conversation and often gave encouraging words.
Tsuru, however, would not be so kind if the task had fallen to her. And if it ever does for any reason or scenario, she will be sure to be the most irksome spiritual companion that anyone would ever have to deal with. “I would make my presence known in the most inopportune of moments. You would have absolutely no privacy, none at all. So, I suppose you had better start hoping that nothing happens to me.”

That day, Jack had decided to take a break in his aimless wandering by visiting one of the many parks lining the edges of Cotes Ward.
Rather than finding a measure of peace, however, Jack finds confusion and curiosity. It comes in the form of the woman sitting on the bench across from him. A woman... with horns and dark patches on her skin.
It's hard to tell from this distance, but... she can't be human, can she? But if she's not, then what is she? He's seen strange things before, and in comparison she looks only mildly different when compared to the denizens of Rapture.
But she's no splicer—there's no ADAM here to corrupt her cell lines, and the symmetry of her form. The mystery stares Jack in the face, and he's helpless in the face of it.
(He clearly doesn't notice how openly he's staring at her.)

It was with curiosity he approached the Au Ra. The people of this place tended not to mimick the races of Eorzea save one. At least, aside from those who hailed from his plane. There were those who appeared to be similar, but still not quite having the innate characteristics of each distinct race and subgroup within each race.
Thus his inquiry began, the poor Au Ra verbally accosted on the busy sidewalk proving in truest form why he tended to be relegated to the Waking Sands.
“Thou dost hail from Eorzea, no?”
“Thine characteristic place thee as a Raen, and whilst there hath been others with Au Ra characteristics, they lack the distinction in thine scales.” If any of the other Scions were here, he would surely be chastised for his behavior, and yet his questioning was part of the greater question on how they had all wound up here, as well as when they could have all hailed from.
habits and mannerisms!
character headcanons.accepting! / @wardenspaeon
when it comes to mannerism, as most people would notice, he speaks in a menacing tone especially if it’s towards someone he does not particularly trust or know very well. as a habit, he does throw around intimidating or threatening jabs when he’s trying to get to know someone and seeing which one of them hits. another habit would be resting his hand under his chin as he talks. i would say that his natural tone is menacing and eery in general, low chuckles occasionally when he’s amused. around the black eagles/his classmates, he can be quite stern when it involves edelgard and their mission altogether but when it comes to other situations, he would act a little more relaxed and let things slide sometimes. despite these habits, hubert does not forget to show respect by bowing to his professors or those who are older before excusing himself and those of high nobility.
