1. I used to have a terrible phobia of insects. I’m still afraid of them to a certain point, but it used to extend even to mosquito hawks and flies. After a couple months of hypnotherapy, I was handling them better than I ever have.
2. I originally got a degree in film and video editing, but after a number of frustrations and a job that kind of soured my opinion of the industry, I am back in school, studying electrical drafting. Science and drawing <3.
3. I cannot stand the summer. Living in Texas, the temps easily hit over 100 and the humidity is awful. Hence, I love the winter. Which is probably more like “sort of fall” to everyone else. XD
4. After living on my own for almost seven years, I’m back to living with my parents. It is a situation I am very grateful for, but very desperate to be out of. FINANCES.
5. From the age of nine to twelve, I rollerskated professionally. Routines, competitions, all kinds of stuff. I absolutely loved it.
6. I cook very rarely. Working on correcting that, but it takes me so long to make each meal and when I’m hungry, I’m hungry at that instant. It puts a dent in my wallet eating out more often, along with my health, so I’m trying to change this.
7. I’m kind of terrified of not being enough.
8. I have a rare disability called bimanual synkenesis. It means my hands mimic one another in movement. When I rotate my thumb on one, the other thumb rotates as well. When I tape my pointer finger, the other pointer finger follows. I type differently than most people because of this and it took me three years with a physical trainer to learn how to clench one hand while opening the other.
9. I’m a really big gamer (especially PC based), but probably terrible at what I do play. Kingdom Hearts, Zelda, Mario, Bioware titles, and indie games take up a large amount of my schedule.
10. I have really, really wild, vivid dreams almost every night. That also makes my sleeping process very turbulent.
11. I’M WORKING AS A LIBRARIAN CURRENTLY OMG
Do you prefer spring flowers or fall leaves?
Fall leaves, definitely. I live in Texas, so spring means summer coming and that’s always a 70% nightmare of the year. Not to mention because of our medium temps in winter, we kind of have flowers and leaves year-round. The beautiful fall ones are a treasure. Means it’s finally cold.
You have a week off and $8K to go on vacation. Where do you go and what do you do?
Finland. I absolutely adore the Scandinavian countries and I’ve been dying to visit the slopes and just explore the environment there for years.
What’s your favorite Halloween monster/spook?
This is going to sound terrible, but it’s the first monster that jumped to mind, so I have to put it- a wendigo. They’re this legend of either a spirit that possesses a soul and turns them to cannibalism, or in another version, what a person turns into when they resort to cannibalism. Long limbs, very tall, antlers, skeleton-like, built for preying upon things. For some reason, they just... fascinate me as a story. But if that’s not Halloween-y enough for you, ghosts. I just really love the idea that there might be more to the afterlife than just either-or. And come on, what freaks people out better than an otherworldly spirit whose intentions they’re not sure of?
Pullover hoodie or zip up? Turtleneck or cowl neck sweater?
Pullover hoodie and cowl neck sweater, though I admit I may have had to look up the latter because- *cough* Texas.
If you could only have one serving of caffeine a day, would you survive? How much do you normally drink?
Yeah, I’d be fine. I drink more soda than coffee and I only drink a cup of the latter when it’s a work day. Soda... too much, I’m trying to work it down again.
If you had to pick one food group to eat for the rest of your life (assuming you have supplements for the others), which would you pick?
Bread. You can use it for sandwiches, to crust something, for cakes, etc. etc. and it fills you up quite nicely if you’re in a hurry and can’t grab something big.
Do you do any arts or crafts? What’s the most recent project you’ve made?
I used to color those “adult” coloring books almost every day. I’d trace the dark lines with marker and work in shading with each color. I also reeeeeeeeally like welding, though I don’t know if that counts here. As for a project, I recently made my grandmother’s 90th birthday invitation via Photoshop and a special printer.
If you had a Youtube channel for tutorials and review, what you you be best at doing/reviewing?
Reviewing films or games, or tutorials on AutoCAD, the drafting program pretty much the whole mechanical/chemical/architectural industry has to know. I found I’m pretty good at tutoring on the thing.
What’s your favorite go-to snack?
Rainins. Or peanut butter ritz bitz. XD They’re easy grabs.
What does your bookshelf look like? How many books? Do you have trinkets?
I’m currently in-between moves, so it’s only got a couple game/movie art guides and a couple school books, but normally, my bookshelf is packed to the brim and overflowing to the second one. Not even sure how many books I actually have. My parents are somewhat annoyed by that. XD Yes, I normally put holiday-based decorations up on my bookshelf along with a photo frame or stuffed animal as well, to make it a little more me.
