1. If you could major in any field of study (even the one you currently study) what would it be?
Linguistics. Language and culture blow my mind daily and if I could travel and translate... living the dream.
2/3.What’s your favourite play? Have you seen it, read it or both?
Rent. And yes, I've seen it- twice. Both times I cried my eyes out, both times were with Leah, and the last time I went, I met Anthony Rapp, the AMAZING man who played Mark, and he personally wished me luck at university and my career. I have written stories for it, watched the films, sung the songs-... it's an incredible play and far more than just the "everybody had AIDS" tale people demean it to.
And it was based off the classic La Boheme. That too.
4. Who is the one person you would be most likely to cry at if you met them?
Florence Welch, because she's gorgeous and brilliant and I just... juerhregdfhhrj. That woman's voice makes me weep oceans.
5. Do you believe “r” is a vowel? This will tell me what kind of person you are. I’m not kidding.
I failed the test. I will diminish and go into the West, and remain Lisa, the really sad chick who didn't get this reference.
6/7. If you could give one person one piece of advice, what would it be and to whom would you give it?
Stop judging people. They are as human as you. We are as human as you. I am as human as you. Stop taking things at face value- we aren't all good at words and your dramatic, hurtful rebuttals when something bumps you the wrong way and you're angry does not settle the dispute. We. are all. human.
To someone who used to be my friend who I miss very much. Naming her would be mean.
8. What book do you really want to read that you haven’t gotten around to yet?
Divergent by Veronica Roth.
9. What’s your favourite episode of Doctor Who and why? You may also substitute Torchwood for this question. Feel free to answer for both.
"Vincent and the Doctor". I didn't get into DW until a couple years ago and I'm a little iffy on the new season. And don't get me wrong, I adored Nine and Ten. I think this is my favorite episode not because of which doctor is involved, but because I've always been obsessed with Vincent van Gogh and his struggles are laid so painfully bare in this episode.
I've struggled with depression for a long time. I'm an artist who's struggled with self-worth and watching others succeed and fail. -and I've seen many friends and family punched in the gut by mental illness.
The expressions on van Gogh's face in this episode spoke lengths and the Doctor's careful way of going about things and that quote, that QUOTE that he told Amy at the end:
"The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice-versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant."
It knocked and knocks my breath out every time and I'm in tears even as I hear it now.
I know I've ranted- but it's a beautiful episode and I relate so very, very much and love the tiny brush touches in it. First place for me, no question.
10. Fill in the blank: If you really loved me you’d ___.
I honestly don't know. The one person I've loved in my life and I broke up a little while ago. I think answering that question here would be too public for us both. Sorry.
11. If you could change one thing about yourself, would you? If so, what would it be?
I'd change my teeth. Because they're terrible and embarrassing and I'm scared shitless they'll never be pretty again because I drank too many sodas and ate too much sugar and flossed too infrequently.
I'm getting a lot of work done on them, but in all honesty, I've frequently imagined asking a genie to fix them should one ever exist. That's how much I hate them.
1. Do you consider yourself an extrovert or an introvert? i.e. do you enjoy the company of other people or do you prefer being alone?
2. What's your favorite kind of art? Painting, photography, sketching, landscapes, portraits, digital art? Anything you can think of or consider art is welcome as an answer. I'm not picky.
3. Would you prefer a job where you travel a lot or one where you stay in one place extensively?
4. Favorite author and why?
5/6. How did you find Tumblr? What tag do you check/stalk most often?
7. How do you react to an argument where raised voices are in play?
8. The desktop background on your computer- have you had it for awhile or did you change it recently? (BONUS POINTS: Include a pic.)
9. What household chore do you hate the most?
10. What is your favorite city in the country you live in?
11. All those really gorgeous food recipes we see going around Tumblr- know how to make any of them?
