I was curious about Marie's feet (yes, I know how that sounds lmao), considering she has become a Wisp. They aren't completely gone as one might expect. There's something telling there. Initially, I had seen them as almost being atrophied... a sort of in-between transformation that many of the protoframes feature. But it might be something more.

I just had a KIM conversation with here where she reveals that she had a physical disability with her feet, one that made others see her as "invalide."

If we take a look at Marie's feet (and if I had to guess), I believe Marie was born with clubbed feet, specifically of the Talipes Equinus variety (where the foot is curved forward and downward).

If so, her transformation does not shy away from her disability. In fact, it is almost gilded, lined with gold (the only such physical part of her body to be so, infact). In her transofrmation, it's like she subconsciously didn't want her disability erased. She doesn't want to hide it, and she doesn't want others to look away because of it.

I was watching Kengineer's 3rd solo playthrough episode last night when this quote from the Lotus popped up during the Once Awake quest, and it got me thinking about 1999.

1999 is when the Infestation pretty much shows up for the first time (at least as far as we know), which places the Radiation Wars after 1999 (of course).

...but how long after?

Now idk how old this Lotus quote is and whether it's in the devs' minds at all, but imagine that the Radiation Wars are directly after 1999, sparked by this recent apocolyptic infestation spreading all of a sudden.

Imagine the 1999 quest ends with nuclear armageddon, perhaps even on New Year's. We make that final New Year's kiss (or not), knowing that the people here are doomed to die (though they were probably doomed to die to the helminth strain inside them at some point anyways).

I imagine in this scenario that for the sake of replayable 1999 gameplay (and maybe even the opportunity to change romance routes) that this time fragment of 1999 we find ourselves in repeats indefinitely, always ending in the beginning of the Radiation Wars.

This is gonna be semi-what sad/dark, as well as spoiler-y for the Whispers In the Wall quest, but last night, my brother and I ran Netracells and came across this.

I have a few theories as to what this is, but I do want to state that it looks to be a mammals skull.

My first theory is that this is Kalymos.

I know that's dark, but Loid/Albrecht said that Kalymos got sick, and Loid added to that by saying he thought she might have been cloned.

You can clearly see her frontal bone and her orbit.

This could also be a dead clone of her, or another kavat, but... I kinda doubt it.

My other theory is that this is a cervilite specimen that pre-dates Tagfer and Mihn (cope)

Speculation and Theorising on ‘The Old Peace’ & the timeline

I’ve shared this theory with a few friends of mine and I’m going to talk about it here, this is pure speculation on my part but I think it might be plausible,

So, a lot of us are confused on where the Old Peace takes place and where it fits on the timeline since it seems to contradict the lore established - but what if that is entirely the point?

What if, the history we know now is actually a lie? Possibly wholly or at least in part? seemingly obscured or rewritten?

History is after all, often said to be written by the victors

And in the case of certain assured mutual destruction type, it would be the survivors instead who would likely not have the entire truth on hand to write down for the future who comes after that ask ‘why?’

But that begs the question - why would the Tenno then not remember this? (And they - if we follow the theory - genuinely do not remember, seeing as they’re so surprised they had a friend and all)

There are a few possible answers if we are running with this theory and not an alternating timeline theory

The Orokin being as the Orokin are, likely did something to the Tenno that would cause us to not remember (we all know how the Orokin are, this would be another on the long conga line of their sins)

Something possibly happened to us in that long sleep that we don’t fully remember everything

And possibly the most emotional and perhaps betrayal of an answer: Lotus made us forget. - for our own safety perhaps? Or some other good reason?

So perhaps THIS is the reason why we are connected to the Lotus in the ‘pool’ to help us remember this past

Perhaps what we will see now is the true events we’ve long forgotten?

If you think about it, the gameplay dynamic between Stalker and Jade is hilariously absurd. On the one hand, we have this mixture of dps and support with entirely newly-minted abilities the likes of which we've never seen before. And then you pan over to her boyfriend who has 3.5 recycled abilities and unlike his wife, who just blows everything up, just dinkily executes enemies one by one.

Actually, now that I think about it...Are Jade and Stalker not representative of Warframe's change in design philosophy over the years? From the fact that Stalker has been around for basically a decade compared to Jade being shiny and new, to how Stalker is more stealth-based like early Warframe was, with Jade just blasting everyting to kingdom come with no remorse while ALSO supporting her team like how most new frames are like. Not to mention how they use literally the same weapon classes, except Jade's all have unique and cool effects, while Stalker's just kinda...kill stuff.

Damn, DE thought this through much more than I thought...Kudos to them!

WF1999 Subway

since I posted this over on the reddit I'll slap it down here too so you all can be haunted just as much as I am about this now

So, this is about to be a post nobody asked for or really wanted but I think I need to share my insanity anyways. I noticed forever ago while playing the 1999 section of Whispers in the Walls that the logos on the Höllvania subway trains reminded me a lot of the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) logo - taking the in game train references from the artist here -

zooming in you can clearly see a little red logo with the Höllvanian text, and when placed next to the TTC's logo there is a striking resemblance.

So that's all well and good, maybe it's a little nod to a close-by to the studio transit system... but this rabbit hole goes deeper. The train model is very specifically a T1, which you can read about in depth here, but the bare bones of it is that this train was developed in Ontario and assembled in Thunder Bay... and only ever used in the Toronto subway system. On top of that, the train was fully put into service in 1999. Interesting!

Now you may be asking me, "How are you so sure that's a T1? Don't all subway trains look pretty similar?" Well. Take a look at this comparison image to the front of the Höllvania train, the T1, and some other subway trains from the same time period around the world and tell me what you think.

And for the last bit here, some looks at the Höllvanian train's concept art next to some side views of a T1 for closer comparison.

In conclusion: Höllvania may not be in Canada, or even remotely close to real-world Toronto… but their subway cars absolutely are. This is absolutely going to make trying to place Höllvania into a region in the real world even more of an absolute nightmare, enjoy!

I think the lotus will be playing a role in 1999, judging by this:

The flowers may just be a little Easter egg but I feel she'll have place maybe not as mission control but definitely watching and maybe, guiding the tenno still.
