Well, I said I’d do warframe… I’m gonna start with my pookie, Thursby. I loved him the second I met him, and he deserved so much better than a mass amputation, so I’m indulging myself with Thursby x Tenno Reader fluff lmao. This is before his unscheduled amputation btw-
TW: Tenno Sign language HC, mentions of unscheduled amputations,
Character: Thursby, unspecified frame reader
Thursby x Tenno Reader Fluff <3

Thursby sighed as he set another big load of scrap onto the table, courtesy of the other Solaris who didn’t mind trying to help his struggling little business… or having somewhere consistent to put their junk. It was another day with a crap ton of stuff to sell and as usual, no buyers.
He jumped slightly as he heard footsteps approaching, and quickly tried his best to look interesting and like his scrap was worth any credits, since most Tenno didn’t even bother with him, usually going to talk to someone more put together, like Eudico, or Biz.
Instead, he saw a tenno, not much different than others, but they looked… kinder. More concerned for his well-being. This kind tenno was of course you.
He was prepared with his usual ‘junkyard diplomat’ introduction of himself, but seeing the quiet concern in your body language put a hole in his false personality and he kind of just deflated.
“If you need scrap in a snap just talk to your junkyard diplomat… oh forget it… hey, I’m Thursby.” He said tiredly. The corpus had patrolled through, and had given him a pointed look, and he just didn’t have the emotional energy to be all peppy and fun.
You tilted your head, your concern showing more clearly. In simple tenno-sign, you asked gently if he was alright, despite being able to tell that the answer was a profound no.
“…I wish I was better. Still alive, I guess, but business is awful and the corpus have their eyes on me… the debt isn’t goin’ away any time soon.” He replied, adjusting his red overalls nervously.
You huffed in gesture, clearly a little frustrated that he was just trying to sweep his issues under the rug when he could literally get his limbs chopped off if he couldn’t pay off the debt. Wanting to at least comfort him if nothing else, you just grabbed him and pulled him into a hug, his first proper hug in far too long. Biz cared but it was usually just a side hug or a pat on the back, and Eudico wasn’t a hugger, she didn’t like to be touched at all really.
Thursby froze, not expecting to be pulled close like that… but he didn’t complain, and relaxed into it after a moment of confusion and hesitation. It didn’t fix all his problems, but it made them seem a little less crushing. He wrapped his arms more properly around you, depending on the potentially awkward shape of your frame’s armor plates, leaning into it fully now. It was like having the weight of his debt shouldered by someone else for a bit.
He hated to ask Biz or Eudico, they both had their own shit to worry about, and asking anyone else didn’t feel right for the same reason. He’d been so busy trying not to drown in a crowd of others doing the same that this simple hug was like being given a life vest. You kept holding him, giving him all the time he wants or needs to take a break from the mess of being in debt to the corpus.
Finally he pulled away, straightening his overalls again. “…Thanks… I really needed that…” he says. You just nod, feeling good at offering just a bit of help. You gesture to the mess of scrap behind him, and he looks over at it.
“Oh… yeah. You’re welcome to take a look, not sure if there’s anything useful in there…” he says, the reality that it’s really just junk settling back onto him like an unpleasant cloud. You shake your head, signing “What about something better? I help with your debt, and maybe get you better stuff than just scrap to sell..”
He looked surprised. Help with his debt? He’d be indebted to you for practically forever, you’d be saving his ass and helping him pay off his friend’s debts too. “Help with the debt? I’d- I’d be unbelievably grateful, but I’ve no idea how I’d pay you back.” He says, still reeling from your proposal.
You nod, amused by his reaction, and sign again,
“Surely there’s something out in Orb Vallis that is better then just scrap?”

Sorry for the slightly wonky ending. Ngl, I only had it so thought out and it ends up really clunky whenever I don’t properly plan stuff, so yeah, that’s on me- either way, hope it was decent enough, I take CONSTRUCTIVE criticism so feel free to offer it <3
