So I’m currently rereading the ranger’s apprentice series in chronologically order(and struggling lowkey the fucking lost stories make this so much harder) and it’s reminded me of my biggest gripe with this series is the fucking magical creatures in the first two(??) books and the heavy implication that magic is a very real thing but is never talked about again??????

What? Why? Why were the wargals and kalkaras talked and explicitly written about but nothing magical was ever acknowledged again and the only time magic is brought up again is to disprove it??? I remember the first time I realized that I got so frustrated and worked up I bit and left teethmarks in my copy of ruins or gorlan

I don’t know why but I always imagined them with very little fur, I based this guy off of the dog at my work.

@solarishashernoseinabook continues to put lines in her story that make Morgarath a kindergarten teacher.

This time it's "He had made great strides in desensitizing the Wargals to horses, and the younger ones, who had grown up around horses, had almost no fear of them."

Imagine Morgarath taking the baby Wargals around the stables to make sure they're not scared of the horsies next time.
