I like to think that Arald just has a jar of jelly beans on his desk like Ronald Reagan. He did have some kind of candy on his desk, so it might as well be jelly beans.
Also, imagine Crowley just jams opera music really loud in the car against Halt's will. The people of Redmont just drive up to a stoplight and all of a sudden, the Crowley mobile drives up beside them blaring some opera singing. Halt's in the passenger seat under his blanket and listening to Celtic Lullabies or something in his noise cancelation earbuds.
Would the Ranger gang have one of those fifteen passenger vans with a whole computer set-up and arsenal in the back?
I've always liked the modern au idea and wanted to try it out. I couldn't figure out what modern rangers might wear, so I just kinda made something up.
