Warp Fields

I've heard that there are many who take issue with the graphics, in star trek, of stars moving by the ships when it's traveling at warp speeds. This argument being; with the distance between celestial bodies and the distances the ships are traveling, there would barely be a noticeable change in the stars alignment. Who's to say that those are star? That's an assumption based on... basic visual storytelling elements. But who's to say those lights aren't dust, meteorites and other particles being ignited and pushed aside by the warp field?

I’ve rewatched “That Which Survives” (Star Trek: The Original Series, season 3, episode 17). And it’s about a strange lady coming on Enterprise and killing a redshirt. Then, when Kirk, McCoy, Sulu and one of science stuff beamed down on a “ghost planet” the Enterprise was “moved away from it” on a very long distance. (Spoilers!) The lady continued to appear now and then on the ship and on the planet killing another redshirt and the science stuff (on the planet). Then she tried to kill Sulu and then Kirk, and made with ship something that it was accelerating and going to blow up. Of course, Scotty and Spock dealt with in the last second before the explosion (and yes, they were on warp 14 and didn’t turn into lizards, it's strange isn’t it?). On the planet, the Captain has found out a cage with a computer producing the copies of the lady and sending them to kill people to defend a base. Well, then Enterprise came back, Spock beamed down and destroyed the computer. So, everybody’s saved.

Apologies to everyone waiting on me to repair the navigational console Supreme Leader Ren slashed up today. I was checking YouTube and Wikipedia to find out the best way to update the star maps, and I kind of fell into an information hole of interesting links and videos.

Long story short, I could probably build a warp engine fueled by coffee grounds at this point, but I’m still not sure how to convince this busted computer that Alderaan isn’t A Thing anymore. As long as we avoid hyperspace while I’m sorting this out, we shouldn’t ram into anything important.
