hey envy!!!! :} i was just thinking abt how i really like drawing and painting with watercolors but i always do fruits or scenery even though i rly wanna draw people but i cant :( i suck at it and its like . i dont know what my ~art style~ is like whenever i try to draw a character for example it always turns out as the same style the character is in it feels like i can never create something thats truly mine and original? :/ idk

Rain/Baraka fluff

Baraka had perhaps the finest creature of all the realms just sitting casually in his lap, one arm carefully draped across his shoulders and the other current resting on one of his own thighs, sometimes rising to lazily gesture as he spoke. Perfectly shaped lips moved slowly and casually spoke to Tanya about something, Baraka was not paying attention. Just paying attention to Rain and his stunning perfection.

He was purring, of course he was. That 'adorable' trait of the Tarkatans where they purred when they were content and happy. Rumbling away quietly as he merely watched Rain and was completely and utterly infatuated with him. It was his own damned fault for being so damned pretty. And strong and courageous and clever and such a powerful warrior. And being so damned pretty, seriously, why were the gods so achingly attractive it was not fair.

The arm that was gently draped across his shoulder moved to gently stroke his head and served to make the purring worse. Baraka was not too far gone in his adoration to miss the slight quirking of Rain's perfect full lips. He thought of Tarkatan's lesser known 'quirks' like their purring and actually rather tactile nature as being 'cute' and always seemed genuinely endeared when he could make Baraka purr. First time in his life being addressed as 'cute', which he most certainly was not, he was a proud Tarkatan warrior dammit... only Rain could call him cute and get away with it.

"We'll have to put this discussion on hold for another time, Rain," Tanya said. In the distance, they could Mileena's rasping voice. "The empress is calling for me."

"Of course, any time Tanya, I never grow bored of hashing words with you," Rain chuckled.

"And I love having bitching matches with you too, Rain," Tanya laughed before lightly walking off with a bounce in her step.

"Edenians are strange," Baraka rumbled out.

"Oh?" Rain asked, turning that pretty and perfect face towards Baraka and momentarily stalling his breathing. Who the fuck decided Rain had to be this damned pretty dammit...

"Yes... my kind of strange," Baraka purred out low.

"Good answer, my treasure," Rain chuckled softly, leaning forward to gently kiss Baraka's nose, lips warm against Baraka's skin and making his purring grow a notch in a volume.

6. Who falls asleep last, watching the other with a small affectionate smile?

Rain. Just something about seeing Baraka passed out and purring softly just makes him feel all gooey and warm inside.   

36. Which one is the secret snuggler?

... Neither? They were both very surprised to find out that they were snugglers, with Rain finding out that Tarkartans are pack creatures and just snugglers in general and Baraka finding out that Rain is quite touch starved.

45. Who worries the most? Over what?

Rain frets over Baraka all the time because Tarkartans have been made to be very battle focused, and while they are very sturdy people, Baraka is not as sturdy as say himself with his demi-godhood. He wishes Baraka would be more careful.

Waterblades for the otp meme?

The very odd and very out there rarepair that I never expected to anyone but me and like one or two other people to enjoy and more do and it’s delightful!

1) who can outdrink the other?

Neither but mostly because they’re both pretty damn strong drinkers.

2) who says “I love you” more?

They are not a very verbally affectionate couple (I am fond of a surprising number of these, oddly), but Baraka has gotten rather comfy saying it in the Tarkatan tongue and watching Rain trying to pick it apart to figure out what he said.

3) who has trouble sleeping alone?

Pulling out the Tarkatan hcs again, Tarkatans are pack creatures and so Baraka sleeps a lot better just in general when around other people. And he has grown rather fond of sleeping with Rain and feels slightly ‘off’ without sleeping next to him.

4) who swears more?

Rain actually doesn’t swear that much. Baraka absolute would peel paint with how often he swears in the Tarkatan tongue.

5) who does more of the housework?

Rain likes the home how he likes it, so he often picks up and rearranges things. Baraka, who generally is really chill about the home, doesn’t mind and will help out if he can.

6) who forgets their anniversary?

They tend to not care. If they want to celebrate something, they’ll just do it.

7) who steals the duvet in their sleep?

Rain often pulls it off during the night because who needs blankets when you have a beefy Tarkatan wrapped around you?

8) who keeps the other awake at night with their snoring?

Baraka PURS loudly, very loudly. It took Rain some getting used to but now it’s just a background noise to him. 

9) who finds stray animals and begs the other to let them keep them?

Baraka will have animals follow him home. It’s 100% normal. He just asks that Baraka cleans them before allowing them on fabric/clothing/bedding.

10) who usually makes dinner?

Baraka does not need to really prepare his food, so Rain makes himself dinner.

11) who plays their music out loud?

This doesn’t really apply to them, I think…

12) who hogs the bathroom?

Rain is vain, so he does, all the way. Baraka just shrugs it off.

13) who gives the most compliments?

Rain, actually, and he prefers it that way. He just loves the way that Baraka’s eye slits widen and he starts purring when Rain murmurs out about how strong he is.

14) who usually starts/causes arguments between them?

No.

15) who isn’t afraid to embarrass the other in public?

Neither. They tend to keep to themselves in public and not really for flustering the other.

16) who gives the other cringeworthy pet names?

Neither. Sometimes Baraka will drop some affectionate names on Rain in the Tarkatan tongue, but generally neither of them care for nicknames.

17) who fusses over takes care of the other when they get sick?

Baraka’s Tarkatan nature actually kills most any illness, even then Baraka tends to fret over Rain when he get sick or hurt, generally sitting close by and tending to him.

18) who finds it impossible to stay angry at the other for long?

Neither. Even if they aren’t very verbal, they’re pretty good about talking things out before they get heated, also Rain doesn’t have any sort of temper and Baraka just can’t get himself to be mad at Rain.

19) who clings to the other for comfort when they’re sad or scared?

Both! They’re very much for physical affection, so if they get distressed it’s very easy to ask for physical affection for comfort. 

20) who is more ‘physically passionate’? (hugs, kisses, or maybe more…)

BOTH! Neither of them are good with words and they more than make it up for it in physical affection. They love cuddling and nuzzling most.
