Waterfall jumping, Rainbow Falls, New Zealand.
Life is made for adventures.
Going waterfall jumping on Sunday. Then cliff jumping next week. This is what life is about. Being adventurous.

Sweary Wild Swimming - for 2 about minutes.
6.30am

When the day is as good as this, the talk in Fort William ends up coming round to taking a swim in the river. I have thought lots about The Girl Next Door jumping into her favourite pool in River Nevis after a days work, so I arranged to pick up Running Girl at 5pm so that we could go up there with her daughter and friend to see if we could get me to go in it before cooking the tea.
Horizontal came home from school and asked if he and his mates could get a lift up to the Lower Falls on River Nevis. This is what I have come to expect of Fort Williams teenagers in the summer. As long as I could drop them off and continue on to my little pool, that was fine.
We lingered to take a couple of photos.
Then you need to climb back up and do it again. RG, daughter and friend were all going to escort me onwards, but before I knew it, they were all at it.
Like Lemmings - even Running Girl was at it.
I knew I needed to act quickly before they made me get up on that bridge. So I went to the nearest gentle pool I could find.
Didn't look too bad.
But it has to be said, it was a little colder than they had made it seem.
The blog, the blog, the blog, the blog, the blog........
As dramatic a pose as I could muster with cold water lapping around my nether regions......
Apparently I swore a wee bit at this point but I wasn't aware of that, I was just aware of chilly water.
And getting out of it.
Elegantly whilst smiling for the camera.
Nothing to it. In all honesty? Once I was out? Absolutely fantastic. I was roastie toastie as soon as I was out, and felt brilliant. I just need to try it a few more times to convince myself that it's safe to stay in longer. The teenagers had no difficulties with staying in longer.
It's amazing how much laughing goes on in the water - don't think they were smiling this much when they left school - or got up this morning.
Pity they nearly got washed away in the rapids.
But they were more than a match. Then we heard that the next age group up had arrived.
Absorbing entertainment - free.
I came home feeling zingy and energetic. This is the kind of people I was originally awestruck by when I first came here. The teenage right of passage. And now, as a teenage 50 year old, at least I made it up to my shoulders. Progress.
WATERFALL JUMPING. Our jumps neighbor first, then Nelson and finally me.
It was a rush.
