Can you share a bit from the waterfall wip?
Absolutely! As you might guess from the title, this is my own take on The Waterfall Scene, and I'm focusing more on WHY Elrond is so afraid of the rings and how his childhood trauma might have affected his actions.
Here's a snippet!
Gil-Galad eyed him coolly, as impassive as ever. After half a heartbeat, he sighed, for once sounding as tired as any elf in his position ought to be. "Why, Elrond? Why do my scouts tell me of my herald running from Galadriel with the same urgency he would have were a pack of orcs at his tail?" "Because the urgency was little less, your highness!" Elrond had regained his breath enough to speak and was gratified to see the alarmed look upon his king's face. Good. Gil-Galad knew of Galadriel's foolhardy nature, especially in recent days. More than that, he, like Elrond, had seen the destruction the silmarills had wrought. If anyone would listen, it would be him.
