Garnet had only come out today as a precaution. When she’d seen Lapis in her future vision, it had been only a glimpse, a small chance -- unlikely enough that it was barely worth investigating. And yet here Lapis was, washed up on shore and looking far worse for wear than Garnet had ever seen her.

       She’s relieved, at least, that it’s only Lapis. She can handle Lapis, at least in this state. Summoning her gauntlets but maintaining a passive stance, she wandered over and nudged her with the toe of her boot.
