WATERWINGED! . . . a gender related to having watery wings! these wings may be made of water (similarly to lapis’ wings from steven universe) or may just have a watery feel to them. . . . the stripes do not have any specific meaning outside of being water related colors.

“Lapis Lazuli!" Rainbow gasped, perhaps a bit more dramatically than necessary. He promptly summoned his umbrella by combining Steven’s shield with Pearl’s spear, and floated over to the blue Gem.

“We can fly together now~!”

“I don’t get it...”

Her words were but a soft mumble compared to the jovial chattering of the Gems around her. One minute she’d been ready to attack Steven, and the next she realized that she wasn’t in Beta anymore. They all were in some pool of water with the diamonds. How was everyone just okay with this?

She swirled a finger through the top of the water and kept staring at the surface of it. The ripples distorted her reflection, but Jasper didn’t care. She was still trying to wrap her head around it all and didn’t pay any heed to who might have been near her. It would have been easy to interrupt her thoughts. Whether anyone wanted to or not was another matter.

“Water covers about eighty percent of Earth’s surface. A fitting place for a Lapis to reside.” Blue’s gaze swept over her new form, lingering where the shadow of a star framed her top. Compared to the Lazulis that came after her, the difference couldn’t be more marked. 

“Have you decided to remain here, then?”

   “So... what is it you and 5XG like about this... ‘Camp Pining Hearts’. Humans are difficult enough to look at in person. Why would you want to look at them on a screen? For hours?” As much as Peridot hates it, Steven said she’d have to spend time with all of the Crystal Gems to adjust to life here - even the newer ones.

She’d decided that she’d at least try to get along with the Lazuli, since she’s seemingly the least immediately aggressive of the bunch.

Since the both of them had been poofed not too long after Lapis’s arrival, and they had been embroiled in combat anyway, there hadn’t been time for discussion between the two of them at all. Now that they were both reformed though (both having stars, to boot), Peridot wasn’t sure what to say to Lapis at all. There were so many mixed feelings running through her mind... Happiness that Lapis had returned, yes, but feelings of hurt and betrayal still lingered. 

“You’re really back...” She said simply, making no move towards the other gem, but rather lingering comfortably away.

       “   lapis! lapis! the most amazing thing just happened!   ”   an excited grin pulled up onto steven’s lips as he rushed over to the gem, practically bouncing up and down on the spot once he’d reached her. he LOVED weddings, he loved anything to do with love, really. ruby and sapphire really were his favourite couple. he couldn’t contain his excitement over the engagement. 

     “   ruby proposed to sapphire! they’re gonna have a wedding!   ”
