watson-holmes is the best, because watson has two syllables just like sherlock. Wat son Holmes. Sher lock Holmes. The same can be said for holmes-watson, because John Wat son & Holmes Wat son. 

The next level comes in when we include the first names. Sher lock Wat son Holmes is better bc it has the two syllables before Holmes, & the emphasis is SHERlock WATson HOLMEs, whereas holmes-watson is SHERlock HOLMES watSON & it doesn’t sound natural, or SHERlock HOLMES Watson which also sounds weird. SHERlock HOLMES WATson sounds more like “holmes” is his middle name than the first part of the last name. At least the HOLMES WATson is like JOHN WATson

Speaking of: John watson is already JOHN WATson, so HOLMES WATson sounds ok. Until we add his first name: JOHN HOLMES WATson is just too much. JOHN WATson HOLMES & JOHN WATson holmes is so much better. WATson holmes sounds like SHERlock holmes, & HOLMES WATson sounds like JOHN WATson. 

So let’s try an experiment. Try saying these. John Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock John Watson. To me, John Sherlock Holmes sounds much more in-flow than Sherlock John Watson. I might even say Sherlock Watson John.

This is why “Watson-Holmes” is superior to “Holmes-Watson”.

I’m streaming the ep on the bbc iplayer (which atm is playing monsters inc so you can’t actually see anything) using a vpn called beebs, which is a chrome extension.

Alternatively there’s filmon which is a lower quality, slightly laggy, streaming website. Hope that helped! :)

~My loving Johnlock tidbits~

Sherlock feigning taking notes while really drawing little hearts around the words “John H. Watson Holmes” and “W. Sherlock S. Holmes Watson” 

John checking Sherlock over before bed because Sherlock always refuses to tell him if he gets hurt. 

Sherlock going on walks with John and nervously grabbing his hand and being just so happy when John walks a little closer and intertwines their fingers together. 

John texting Sherlock cute things when they’re in the same room together just to see his love smile, even though Sherlock has no idea why John would text him when they’re in the same room, like three feet away from each other. 

John calling Sherlock “Sherl” when they’re alone in bed and seeing Sherlock’s grin when he says it, because John is the only one who says it with affection in his voice, whereas anyone else who know it always say it mockingly.

Sherlock calling John “Mr. Holmes” after they get married and loving how John smiles at him when he says it. 

John seeing Sherlock has fallen asleep at his desk and quietly picking him up and gently taking him to bed before crawling in beside him and wrapping his arms around him, noting that Sherlock hasn’t woken up the entire time and loving the fact that he trusts John so thoroughly. 

Sherlock is always the inner spoon when they cuddle because he just loves when John’s warmth surrounds him like it does...

Two months later the wedding of Watson-Holmes was the most talked about event of the year. Prince William, Princess Kate and, Prince Harry attended the reception. Mycroft was quite pleased when he passed 20 years later that John and Sherlock were still happily married.
