literally just the beckground grid made into a 3d landscape and viewed from different angles w the colours stripped off???????? :o

i love how even tho presumably every light grey pixel is the same shade of light grey and every dark grey pixel is the same shade of dark grey in the original grid, somehow when the colours r turned into contours theyre all slightly irregular (which u can see in the cross section) and that leads 2 all this height variation in the peaks and troughs which condense into lines of shadow at different viewpoints and create all these incredible interference patterns from a distance and detailed contours up close (which obv i will colour in and add textures to etc in a bit just wanted to record the underlying shapes and patterns of it first)
