Thinking about Wayne Enterprises, goons and employees
* Gotham rogues try to mess with WE HQ and everyone is reminded that a good 10% or more of the employees there are retired goons. It's something people have known but it's startling to be reminded of it.
The rogues weren't expecting to see people that worked under them 1 year, 3 years, 8 years ago. They would have tried to convince them to switch sides, but everyone knows how good the benefits are for Wayne Enterprises.
Several rogues were tossed out of the revolving door of the lobby. Behind the glass, an armory worth of weapons bristled in the hands of the employees. Old habits. No goon would go anywhere without weapons.
There's talk for the next few months about if Wayne technically counts as a rogue or villain. He hasn't done anything villainous that anyone knows about, but he does have a lot of underlings.
* A lot of WE employees are either Gotham born or came from another place to work for WE in Gotham.
* Employees of WE are honorary Gothamites. They'll probably stay around for a while and they can at least do decent enough work to be hired by the company.
* Saying that you came here for work is suspicious. The market for goons is pretty tough. Saying that the work you came here for was Wayne or one of the charities, well that's fine.
* Sometimes the nearest Wayne is needed because their job is to call out bullshit in whatever way they want and throw money around freely.
* There's an escalation of issues or concerns policy for any employee where they can straight up to talk to Bruce Wayne, Timothy Drake-Wayne, or any Wayne available. This policy is not often resorted to but it does resolve some safety and harassment problems.
There's also been a few cases where the employee reveals that they have a large debt and were trying not to resort to ransom or are being forced to do something (give their work away to dangerous people, kidnapping a Wayne, etc.).
* Occasionally Bruce Wayne just wanders around bad parts of the city and passes out a business card for interviews.
* Retired goons (hired by Wayne) usually still keep that card and if they meet someone in the business of gooning that they find promising, they will hand over the card and tell them to try.
