Plot: Something I wrote earlier in the week when I had a good cry (:(:(: Thought I might as well post it. So here, have a fic where a bastard man comforts you.
Warnings: Y/N is sad but other then that nothing.
Wayne was many things, you knew. You'd known him long enough, working for Norman together, and he's gross, violent, and a coward. You'd seen him shoot men and smile about it. You knew every single shade there is of pathetic bastard because of him- off by heart.
He was also, apparently,.. really good at hugs.
When you felt like everything was falling apart around you and you couldn't fix it, you were obviously hoping to be alone. Cry and eat some chocolate by yourself until you could pretend you didn't feel that way at all again; hide until you were able to glue yourself back together. Temporary fix though it is.
But unfortunately... Wayne found you, tears welling up in your eyes and too-far-gone to put a lid back on it. At first, of course, he laughed; chuckled and smirked, asking you what the hell happened to you?? What, you get a papercut??
When immediately you tried to tell him to leave, you're fine, just stubbed your toe- you melted into a puddle of mortified tears and sobs. You were shocked when he 'awww'ed at you, only a little bit teasing you, and drew you into him- and you were even more shocked that you let him.
You cried and hyperventilated into his shoulder for a few long minutes. You try to pull yourself back together, because you're mortified sniffling and sobbing into Wayne- pathetic. But you're so fucking sad and you keep crying harder-- and eventually Wayne stops rubbing your back. Leans down to your ear. Mutters quietly, just to you, how about we go sit down hm? Get you off your legs.
'Sides, I'm crampin up. He chuckles, old man. Let's go.
Weakly you give a nod, sniffling and giving little chocked hiccups as you continue to struggle breathing evenly you're so upset. Don't think twice before letting him lead you to a seat and into his lap; immediately burying your face in his shoulder again. "I- I- I- I'm s- sorry... "
"Shut up, you don't have any thing to be sorry for."
A sob racks your body hard, because how of all the people in the world right now is Wayne the most decent of them.
Eventually the even thrumming of his heartbeat against yours and his hand rubbing up and down your back soothes you into quietness. The tears dry up on your face and you just sit there across his lap, leaning against his shoulder (And you haven't peered at his face but you're pretty sure he's fallen asleep), exhausted and empty. You don't feel better, exactly, but you've run out of tears. You don't feel so melted. Eventually you take a deep breath in.
Carefully you move your head up to peak at Wayne, check if he's actually sleeping. A real true grin slips across your face when you realise he is. Nice to know he doesn't snore.
Ready to move, you ever-so-carefully lift yourself up off of him and look around; search around for a blanket for Wayne or something (After all he really did come through today. He really did.), and then get yourself some fresh air.
After you carefully lay a blanket over him and he immediately gives an abrupt snore, shifts onto his shoulder, and pulls the blanket more securely around himself you give another grin. Even bigger.
Pairing: Wayne Jackson x Reader, Norman Tyrus & Reader (platonic)
Word count: 3,415
Warnings: Cursing, Wayne being grabby without permission
Author's Note: Well, I just had to do something for Wayne after doing something for Norman, right? This one was written with @slashingdisneypasta mind, especially after wonderful content has been shared as the gif belong and her own fics! Hope you enjoy.
Norman couldn't say he was entirely thrilled about the prospect; after all, you were supposed to be separate from the Tyrus gang for safety reasons in his mind, and lord only knew how Dale and Wayne were going to react to you. But desperate times called for desperate measures, and this was one of the last tricks in the book he had to play. On the run, with the two thugs in tow, Norman knew if this didn't pan out, they would all be spending quite a long time in jail. A prospect that didn't leave the warm fuzzies for any of them. Lyle might just have all their heads, which was a far less appealing prospect than even prison.
So here he was, driving Wayne and Dale to the one place that he hadn’t ever wanted to bring them, ignoring all the questions that were coming his way.
“Just….shut it. For a few minutes. You wanted a safe house that they didn't know about, and that's where I'm bringing us all.” The edge to his voice was far more firm than usual.
You hadn't been expecting any company. A nice quiet afternoon, spending reading and cleaning up the house a bit since it was your day off. It came as a surprise when the back door rattled. It had been locked, and there wasn't any sound of glass breaking before the familiar thud of the door hitting the wall could be heard.
There were only two people that had keys to your house, and you didn't think that you would be seeing either of them any time soon.
“Well, shit, you been holding out on us, Norman?”
“Nice place. Doesn't seem like a safe house.”
The two voices were unfamiliar, but the name uttered by the first was. Setting aside the book that you had been planning on starting, deciding to investigate what was going on. Did Norman bring people here if he thought that you weren't home? Your gut feeling told you that wasn't it, but anything with the Tyrus brothers was possible.
“Norman?” You had just caught sight of the familiar blonde head of hair and lanky frame through the doorway that led to the kitchen and the backdoor. A heavy sigh could be heard even from where you stood.
“Hey, sweetheart,” he greeted as he made himself appear back in your line of vision. He looked tired, a little haggard. Oh, something was most definitely wrong.
“Sweetheart?” Your eyes jumped to the others in the room as you inched forward. A rowdy, motley looking duo of guys. But they were hanging back, respecyfully, even if the younger man was poking around in one of the drawers beside him. These weren't two that you had ever met. You could see the tension filling Norman's form and decided that perhaps it was best to try and defuse the situation. As quickly as possible. A brawl in the middle of your kitchen was not something that you wanted.
“Well, you're all here now, and I figure I'll know why soon enough. Come on and make yourselves at home. Anyone hungry?”
“Oh, I could eat!” The enthusiasm brought a smile to your face in spite of the circumstances that you had a feeling you wouldn't particularly like.
“All right. Living room is that way. Feel free to turn whatever you want to watch. I'll whip something up real quick.” You moved further into the kitchen. The men shifted, followed by the sound of a smack echoing out.
“Fuck! All right.” Norman was glowering at the man in the denim jacket. You had most certainly missed something but the two wandered off towards the living room while Norman hung back.
“Gonna cue me into what's going on?” You asked, tone light but demanding an answer from the man that you had known for the better part of half of your life. He leaned against the counter beside you, causing you to absently reach into the fridge and hand off a beer.
“We need a place to lay low for a few days, possibly two weeks…” He opened the beer and took a long pull. Two weeks. It must be bad if this was where he ended up. You wanted to press for more information, but another part of you didn't want to know what the hell it was that had them needing to hunker down like this. Norman had always been careful to try to keep that part of his life away from you and yours. Something that you appreciated.
“Okay. Guess that means I'm gonna have to do a bit of shopping. You guys need anything specific? And any food restrictions I gotta know about?” The itch on the back of your neck was intense as you grabbed out some ingredients to throw together a quick meal for the men. Norman was staring at you. You could tell from the feeling without having to look at him.
“No, think we're good. Got some bags in the car with clothes. I'll give ya some money so you can get groceries.” At that moment, you knew better than to argue. Besides, it would help given how tight money has been for you over the last few weeks. Cut hours at work due to slow business were finally starting to catch up. “You know I wouldn't have brought this to your door if I coulda helped it.”
“I know, Norman. It's okay.” As much worry as it caused, you knew better than to let that on, and honestly, you would prefer not to see him locked away. So, if staying at your place with his crew for however long this would take was what was needed, then so be it.
“Dale and Wayne are harmless. Mostly. They’ll behave as long as they are here. They give you any trouble, you let me know. Okay?” You nodded absently as you chopped some veggies.
“Got it.” Pausing long enough to look up, you gave him a smile. “I'm sure everything will be fine, Norman. Don't worry. Any issues, I'll come to you right away.” That seemed to ease the concern as he relaxed further and took another pull from his beer. After a second, he nodded and headed off to the living room, leaving you alone to cook and process everything that had happened.
*********
A few days in, and things were actually going far more smoothly than you have imagined. Sure, having three men in your house created a sort of chaos that you weren't used to, but there was an odd routine to fall into among them. With Norman there, you were less worried about leaving them alone in your home when you headed out for your scheduled shifts. Dale and Wayne were nosy at best. Especially since it seemed that Norman hadn't let anyone know about you. Which, made sense and didn't bother you the way that they seemed to think it would have. It was an extra protection.
Dale was easy enough to keep occupied. Food, movies, some sort of distraction, and he was less destructive. Not entirely so, as could be seen in the broken lamp, chair, and picture frame but less than what he could have been. At the same time, he was willing to help around the house, surprisingly easy to direct. And the job was done about ninety-five percent correctly. The tasks were mainly things that you hadn't had a chance to get to and ones that he couldn't mess up too badly. Dale seemed to be happy to do something and receive praise.
Norman did what he always did when he was around. Genuinely relax to some degree. He refused to let you spend money on groceries and had given enough money to replace what Dale had broken with something that was actually nicer than what had been destroyed in the first place. No matter what you had to say about it. He did his best to keep the other two in line and from crawling up the walls. You had serious doubts that they stuck in one place, inside, for this long and they had a while still to go. There was only so much to do in your home. The rest of the time? He actually would read with you. Quiet shared moments that reminded you of when you were much younger and he snuck away from his older brother for so much needed peace.
Wayne? Now, he was a bit of a different story. Wayne was pretty much always around unless Norman was spending time with you. A near constant presence that was admittedly a little difficult to adjust to since you were so used to being on your own. Not in the shared space sense but more in the sense of a constant presence around you. And oddly enough, as difficult as it was to adjust to, it wasn't something that bothered you. Once or twice, you had caught Norman telling him off. Thought wasn't really given to those instances. Wayne liked to talk, and he was far more handsy than just about anyone you had ever dealt with in life. Something that occurred more and more after the first two days, and mainly when he knew Norman wasn't around to catch him. It was almost as if it was a game. Were you encouraging it? Maybe a little since, after the first few times, you stopped slapping his hands away and almost leaned into the touches.
A war raged within you, trying to make the determination if letting him continue to pursue something was smart or not. The answer really was no. It wasn't like he would be the sort to come home every night and sit at a table with you. They were out days at a time, various acts of violence and illegal activities filling his day. It just complicated life for you more if you let that in further than what you already had with Norman. And what would he think? Besides being none too happy.
You couldn't remember the last time that you had made a bad decision in life. Everything was so carefully thought and planned out. With the exception of the occasional blip in the radar, thanks to Norman. There was probably more harm in good with the choice of letting go and seeing where things took you, but for once, that was exactly what you wanted. It was going to be able keeping it hidden from Norman for the time being simply to avoid the hassle and headache.
Wayne had taken the lack of resistance as a green light to ramp things up. Murmured teasing seemed to be one of his favorite things to do. Not only would he get handsy when he could, but now there were dirty little comments for your ears only. Careful utterances of just what had entered his mind that day, devolving into less wholesome territory the longer you allowed it to happen.
Norman had been called up by Lyle and needed to handle something for his older brother. He had decided to take Dale before something else in your house broke and had tried to get Wayne to come as well but the argument had been made that it would be better for less people to go, since they were laying low. In case they did end up pulled over or in trouble. A sound argument and one that he couldn't really fight against.
The door had barely closed, and Wayne was right at your side. There was no doubt that he had been lurking in anticipation of the very moment. Biding time until he had you all to himself. Now, there wasn't any hiding, any need for whispered words. Who knew how long you had but whatever it was, to him it was enough to at least progress what had been flirted with the past few days. All secrets could be out in the open. Freedom often brought a further sense of daring, and Wayne seemed to be no exception to that rule. Act first, think later. Consequences be damned.
“Seems we got the place to ourselves.” He didn't waste any time. His arm was almost instantly around your waist, tugging you close to his side. The soft, worn fabric of the t-shirt still held strong to whatever cologne he had bothered with that morning. The grin could practically be heard in the words. All the confidence in the world that you weren't about to turn him down. And you weren't. But did he need to know that right now? Not a chance.
“Brilliant powers of observation. I thought I might just take a nap since I might get lucky and have a little peace and quiet.” Playfully, you pulled away, though it seemed even the slightest hint had the man on edge and his arm tightened further.
“Just where do you think you're going, huh?” The chuckle that reverberated in your ear was low, and before you knew it, Wayne was nearly pinning you to the doorway. The position put him just slightly behind you. There wasn't a chance that you were going to escape the grasp that he had on you. A dangerous position, and your eyes strayed to the door for just a moment, almost as if anticipating Norman and Dale walking right back in. But they didn't. You two were truly on your own. Just a hint of nerves hit right then. “Aww, don't go tensing on me now, sweetheart.” You took a second to breathe before relaxing, turning and tipping your head just a bit to try and see him.
“Well, I guess I could be persuaded to change my afternoon plans.” The grin that spread across his features happened in a flash. His eyes dipped lower before finding yours once more.
“Yeah? And what will make you change your mind?” There was both an underlying promise there if you wanted to look at it deep enough. With a smile, you shifted just enough to turn towards him. While you were ready for some risk, it had to be tampered just a little bit here. Because clearly, the man was thinking with a one track mind. Were you looking for any commitment? No. Even you knew that was likely a terrible idea until proven otherwise. But a hit and quit was definitely not what you were looking for either and giving in so easily? It would probably make that door far too easy to walk through.
“Slow your roll a bit there, Wayne.” The pinch of his brow was rather adorable, a thought that you were not going to say to his face. Not yet. Besides, you didn't think he would appreciate the term adorable just yet. The change in position allowed you to settle your hands against his chest, trying to ease the disgruntled reaction that was surely coming. “I'm not saying no. Just….not yet, okay? Why don't you go get settled on the couch? I'll grab us some beers, and we can go from there.” For a moment, it seemed like he might just protest before his body relaxed and the smile eased.
“All right.” The hold relented after another moment, and he finally stepped back. “Don't keep me waiting, sweetheart.”
“Don't plan on it.” You only slipped away to grab the promised beers after planting a quick kiss to his cheek. The small laugh that came from him made you smile. If his life was anything like Norman's, well, you knew that he probably didn't get a load of comfort or time to properly relax. What better place to start?
Finding him sprawled out on the couch, you were the one giving a soft chuckle this time. He gave a look as if to say what.
“Ya told me to settle down.”
“I did.” Before anything else could be said, he was yanking you down into his lap. It was a good thing that the beers were closed or they would have been all over the place.
“There, that's better.” Both arms were tightly wrapped around your waist, once again leaving you with little chance to get out of his grasp. The position was more than anticipated, but you decided to settle and not think too much. You held up the beer that you had grabbed for him, a silent question of if he wanted it or not. Instead of grabbing the beer, his fingers brushed over your cheek before grasping your chin to turn your head. The kiss should have been anticipated but still caught you off guard. Unsurprisingly demanding, but there was a hint of softness. Like he could drag this out for as long as he wanted. Frankly, he could if you were honest. And he probably knew that by the way that you responded.
Like a couple of teenagers, you were content to hang out on the couch and make out. At some point, his hands had made their way under your shirt and slid up under your back and chesf. Calloused and warm. Perhaps you should have stopped their exploration, but really, you were enjoying the attention and the touch a little too much. A couple of movies passed without all that much attention paid to them before the sounds of a car door slamming and the rattle of the backdoor sounded out. It shook you out of the little world you were in, and almost immediately, like a guilty party, you slipped from the man's lap and settled onto the couch. The disgruntled sound that came from Wayne let you know his displeasure. But he had been just as quick to get hands off when Norman had been around before now. So why would that change? It didn't bother you in the least. The last thing that was needed was Norman getting on your case about something or tension caused in the house. The men still had to be here for who knew how long. Fighting was not something that you wanted to do or have to deal with between them. Norman was protective, a track record proven a few times over the last several years, so it wasn't worth testing the limit. Just in line with the thoughts that you had when debating if it was worth it or not in the first place.
Norman and Dale appeared from around the corner. Dale looked a little roughed up, a split lip new compared to when they had left. Your head cocked and eyes jumped to Norman, a silent question that likely would go unanswered but worth asking all the same. He subtly shook his head. Right. He glanced between the two of you, which you ignored to the best of your ability and instead took a sip of the second beer that you had grabbed not too long ago. Thankfully. It would be hard to play it off as nothing happening between you if the beers are warm and untouched. Wayne was far less subtle than you were.
“You get your ass handed to you, Dale?” Norman rolled his eyes and flopped down into the chair with a groan while Dale settled his ass right between you and Wayne. Chuckling softly, unable to help the amusement, you decided that getting beer for the other two was probably a smart idea. So, you got yourself up and headed to the kitchen, just as Dale was beginning to mutter and bemoan whatever it was that caused the split lip. You could feel Wayne's eyes on you as you walked to the kitchen, causing you to shake your head to yourself. Before grabbing the beers, you decided to order a few pizzas for dinner for you all. Might as well since you didn't feel like cooking.
“Enough.” Norman's voice was loud enough to carry. Then again, it often was when he decided that he wanted the others to shut up or there was something that you weren't meant to hear being discussed. You weren't stupid after all. Funny how it felt almost routine now, having all the men in the house and how the thought that they would eventually leave left you feeling a bit sad over it all. That was not something to focus on right now. Instead, it was better to just enjoy the moment, the odd group that was practically calling your home their own, and whatever it was that was happening between you and Wayne.
Dale Acton and Wayne Jackson x Fem!Reader || Drabble
Plot: You slip in the shower and oh no. Only Dale and Wayne are there to help you.
Warnings: References to nudity but it's actually very tame. It's primarily comedy.

"Hold on guys, I'm almost done I'm, just getting out! There's snacks in the fridge." You call, turning off the tap and squeezing out your hair. "Help yourself!"
"Don't take too long, Lyle's in a mood tonight." Wayne calls back, and you nod. Great. That's just great.
From further into the apartment, you hear Dale's voice gasp 'doritos!', which makes you grin. He is so cute.
You're simply stepping out of the shower, reaching for your towel, when disaster strikes.
There's a handtowel on the floor, you step on it, and slip; you land strangely and a sharp pain shoots through your ankle.
The loud clatter (and your screech) arouses Dale and Wayne's attention outside and you hear some stomping feet, the crunch of doritos, and quick banging on the door through the loud pumping in your ears. "Hey! What happened?"
"You good in there!?"
"Uhh... yeah! I'm fine, just slipped!" You call back, not-entirely-sure, but certainly surprised how even your voice comes out.
Another few moments pass and you're still laying there, in shock, listening to the sound of crunching doritos outside the door.
When finally you start to realise the predicament you're in.
You're in a lot of pain, your ankle is probably twisted or worse, your knee is hurt too, you're naked except for the towel you draw over your body now (like a fuzzy tablecloth, for all intents and purposes), the only people around to help you are Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb, and you're going to be late for a thing with Lyle. And he's in a bad mood.
Fuck.
"Hey," Wayne's voice slothers through the crack in the door between it and the frame then. "You've been very quiet in there, you still alright?"
"Ummm... " No, you're not. With a huff, you bang your fist on the floor in frustration having to admit this. "No, actually. I think I hurt myself pretty bad. Gonna need some help."
Gonna need some help.
Gonna need some help.
Gonna. Need. Some help.
You just signed your own death warrant. Because you are going to want to d i e of embarrassment soon when you get that help.
If only Norman was here.
"Uhhh, aren't ya naked in there?" Dale asks, and immediately makes a curse, when Wayne hits him.
"Moron."
"Heh. Our lucky day though, huh Wayne?"
"Shhhh... "
"Yes." You hiss, through grit teeth. Then sigh. "Look- first things first, I need one of your to slide my phone under the door. I have to call Lyle and let him know I'll be late."
Dale immediately moves away from the door towards your bedroom. You know its him because he stomps- Wayne strolls. And Norman stalks and Lyle prowls. "On it!"
While he's off searching for your phone, you get to work reaching for your clothes. Maybe you can get something on before one of them have to come in and help. Like your shirt- yes. Your shirt.
You manage to reach the article of clothing, along with your bra, and manage to get them both on.
The hard bit is gonna be everything else.
Especially since what you have in here are stockings and a skirt because you were going to a Lyle function.
One thing is for sure tonight- you are not having either of these men help you into fish net tights. With a huff, you drop your head backwards. "Wayne... " You groan, already regretting this.
"Ehem, yes?" Oh, he is enjoying this.
"Can you please go get me some pants? Bottom drawer." When you hear a chuckle, you say it again. Clearly. "Bottom. Drawer. Not top!!"
"Yeah yeah, I got it. Be right back."
Dale gets back then and slides the phone hard under the door. It knocks into your thigh and quickly pick it up, and press Lyle's number. "Thank you Dale!"
~
10 minutes later, after Lyle has torn you a new one and made you feel like hot crap, you let the phone down on the floor and huff; considering your next steps.
You have to somehow get the door unlocked so one of the guys can come in and help you get dressed and into the car and to the hospital. "Hmmm... Um- you both there?"
"Yep!"
"Right here."
"Okay. One of you is going to have to come in here. Which one of you... ah- " You begin inching towards the door to unlock it, and wince when your hurt leg has to move and lightning pain strikes up and down. "I mean,.. I don't suppose either of you can put a girls pants on with your eyes closed???"
"Not a chance." You can hear the cruel grin in Wayne's voice.
"Uh uh." Dale's, too.
It was a long shot. "Okay. Well. We have to get moving; Lyle is still expecting us eventually. He's only given us an hour. So who's it gonna be, then?"
Immediately they begin to bicker. "I'm stronger. I'll do it Y/N."
"Oy. Slow down there. I have the pants, here."
"Give 'em."
"Nu uh- "
"Oh- by all means, gentlemen, argue while I sit in here in pain." You sigh, rolling your eyes. At this point you've made it to the door. You can just reach up and unlock it, now. "Both of you come in, since it's such a 'tough choice'." You snap, sarcasm deep in the roots of your tone, reaching up to the door. "But I swear, if there's any comments, or obvious staring, or God forbid touching- I still have one working foot and it'll kick you directly in the dicks. Hear me??" You get the door unlocked and push it open, flashing both the men on the other side a glare. "... Now help me."
Dale's eyes flicker dangerously, but luckily you have your towel over your lap, and Wayne wiggles your pants at you; a wicked grin on his mouth. "Well? Let's get on with it huh?"
~
In the end they decide to compromise on the duty of helping you. Wayne helps you to stand upright, you hold onto his shoulders rather then putting all your wait on your feet, while Dale kneels down and gets your feet through the holes and pulls your underwear and pants up.
... it is mortifying.
You're still death-gripping one of Wyane's shoulders when Dale stands up and does up the zip and button on your jeans. When he's done, he flashes you a sleazy grin. Nods at you like some girl at a bar. "... nice."
"Oh shut the fuck up. Help me to the car, huh?"
Just as you're wrapping your arm over his shoulders, hopping gingerly on one foot, Wayne ducks back into the bathroom and scoops up your phone. When you're halfway across the apartment towards the door, thanking them both, sincerely, for this help and for being actually pretty decent about it (in comparison to what they could've been)- Wayne comes up behind you and slips it into your back pocket.
"There ya go- "
"Wayne you are a 64 year old man, be more mature!- "
Plot: Lyle demands that you find some nice clothes for Wayne so that he can be seen with him in public and not be embarrassed. Simultaneously, you're dealing with a particularly bad Tinder match sending you eggplants.
You help Wayne to be presentable and Wayne helps you to make a wierdo leave you alone.
Warnings: Sexual references as well as mentions of dick picks.
*I wanted to write for Greasy and Wheezy Weasel... but also Jim Bickerman... this is the natural conclusion XD

"Ooookay, look... " You feel like a master chef judge except theirs no cake, there's just Wayne. Disappointing. "The outfit is fine, you cant go wrong with a clean shirt and jeans." Clearing your throat, you turn promptly to the men's jackets section of T.K. Max, wondering to the medium section and giving the choices a quick overlook. "You just need a good coat- because this jean jacket and hoodie combination is not it. You're a 60 year old man not a 19 year old drug dealer, dress like it."
"Thought I was."
"No."
Giving a sigh as you look through the options, because this is absolutely not what you would like to be doing today (Though, it still beat answering the phone right now), you pick out a few of the coats and hand them over to Wayne. You choose a coat in off-white, too, but pause. You look at him and screw up your nose in a wince, considering what he does for a living. He shakes his head. No. Bad idea. Put it back.
Shame; he'd look good in white.
"Anyway, we'll also pick up a few more shirts and jeans because you cant live on a rotation of 3 to 2 ratio. No. We might get you a haircut too, and maybe- "
"God. You wanna shave me, too??" He cuts you off, and you hear the exaggerated sarcasm clear as day, but still give him a deeply unamused.
"No, the beard's sexy." You say bluntly, feeling your phone buzz in your back pocket and fighting off a frustrated sigh; knowing exactly who it was from. "-Thats your only redeeming feature right now. Don't say crazy stuff like that!, because I do not have the patience for it today."
The man gives you a sheepish shrug, but looks wholly shut up. "... jeez... You're a real ball a' joy, today."
You feel the tell-tale buzz again, and let air whisper out from between your lips in frustration. "... you have no idea."
"Great." Wayne rolls his eyes, clearly annoyed at this whole situation just like you. And you get it- if your cousin said he was embarrassed of you and demanded someone else take you out and dress you at the crack of dawn on a Saturday then you'd be pretty damn annoyed, too. You're about to offer an olive branch, ask if he wants to get something to drink before you start, but then a mischievous vulgar grin spreads across his rough-looking face and immediately you groan. Before words even come out. This goddamn man- "... Hey, I do like to hear ya think I'm sexy, though. How about that, huh?"
Without a word, you deadpan-point him towards the changing rooms.
~
Its a couple of hours later and- to be honest- you are in a better mood, now. This is definitely better then answering your Tinder messages, at least. For sure.
At first all the two of you did was argue, until you marched him out of the store to get a coffee. You found, after that, that you were both far more likeable people with a caffeinated/sugary drink in your hands. You got along a lot better, then.
After a few try-on's, you both agreed on a plain old grey long coat. not quite a trench coat, because he's creepy enough you think, but nothing fancy either, with nice deep pockets. That feature particularly made him happy, and you couldn't blame him. Pockets make you happy, too. You didn't think about what he might want to put in the pockets, though he did try to tell you. You didn't want to know.
"No- but wait, see here?? I could totally fit a- "
"Thats okay Wayne, I don't need to know."
"B- "
"No."
*Huff* "Suit yourself. ... Hm, but I might even be able to get me in here some- " This man chose to look up and wriggle his eyebrows at you, almost causing you to choke on a laugh. Almost. "You know."
Okay, you're not made of stone. At this you did snort; shaking your head. "No, I don't know."
"... you wanna?"
"Nope."
Now Wayne was just trying a few pairs of jeans (He offered to let you in so you could 'help him'... you politely turned that oh so very kind and beyond charming offer down with a 'no you're a big boy; I have the utmost faith in you that you can do it' and an encouraging pat on the shoulder), and while you sat outside the changing rooms with the coat hung over your legs and a basket half full with some more shirts in various cobalt hue's, you finally see fit to open up your phone for the first time in the day and... oh, boy.
You wince.
"Yep," You mutter, shaking your head and shifting to make sure no one was around to see. "Thats a penis."
God, what is wrong with men?
'U gotta send me some now' the guy, Brandon, texts you then seeing that you were online. 'Thats fair'. You groan. Oh no you do not.
When Wayne comes out of one of the changing rooms, tucking his shirt into his new jeans, you quickly switch off your phone and lower it into your lap. A second ago you were having a good day (A good day! With crazy Wayne of all people!), but now... aghhh, you just wanted to go home. Be alone. Lament over the fact that, at this rate, you're never going to find a man you have any kind of real chemistry with. "- that looks great." You say quickly, flashing a kind smile and getting up. "We'll get a couple of those. Its all on Lyle, anyway. Come on, lets ring up. You wanna get Taco Bell on the way back?- "
"Uh uh uh," As you're attempting to walk by Wayne and head for the registers, he grabs you by the crook of your arm and stops you right there. "What just happened here?"
Taking a deep breath, you cross you arms and face him; never mind the proximity he set. "Nothing. We've been out for hours, and I'm tired."
"You are not." He growls, then you peer and watch a sly grin spread across his face. "You cant lie to a liar, sweetheart, trust me. But hey," Suddenly he plucks your phone right out of your hand, making you yelp and go wide-eyed. Oy- "lets see for ourselves what the problem is, huh?"
"No, no, no- " You reach for the phone as soon as you see it, but he turns around.
Your phone comes to life and, holding the device just out of your reach (Well, you could move and grab it, but at this point you're frozen out of mortification), Wayne flicks to the most recently opened app. Then the photo's slide across the screen again and your nose wrinkles. "Ahhhh... " You roll your eyes deeply. You can imagine the nasty grin on the dirty old man's face without even seeing it. "... So? You gonna uhh... repay the favour, or not? Hm??" He chuckles. and you groan.
"What do you think?" You ask his back, rubbing your face.
"Well I'm sure I don't know- "
"No! The answer is no!"
"Heheh,.. " Suddenly an odd calm settles over Wayne, and you hear rather then see the phone shut off. Then there's a consoling tone in his voice that makes you nervous. "Alright, we can go. I'm all done here, after all, aren't I? Nothin for my Cuz to be embarrassed about anymore, hm? Lemme just put my old pants back on."
"Okay... thank you... ... hey, wait, gimmie back my phone, first- "
"Not just yet."
... that sure makes you nervous.
For the few moments you're waiting for him you tug your bottom lip between your teeth, worried. You just want your phone back! You want to delete. Tinder. damnit.
When Wayne's in there for a few moments too long, you awkwardly approach and knock on the door. "... Way- "
He opens the door almost as soon as your knuckles hit the surface, startling you, and hands you the phone back with a terrible, satisfied look on his face.
... you squint. "What did you do."
"Nothin'." He tells you back, noncommittally; shrugging and adjusting his pants as you open up your phone and navigate back to Tinder.
...
...
...
..
...
..- "OH." Immediately you turn off your phone all the way again and cross your arms, fighting to urge to throw it. THATS not gonna give you nightmares at all. After a moment, your eyes flick to Wayne grinning proud. "... why."
"Well he aint gonna bother you no more now, is he?"
"The concept of your penis does seem to have that effect on people." You say... but cant help it. You laugh, shaking your head; more an inappropriate cackle then a laugh, really. It feels good. "Come on lets go,.. Flaccid, and everything. Very sexy, Wayne."
"I thought so." He's still grinning with pride, and that only makes your giggles worse.
"Move it, Jackson."
~
You did end up getting lunch on the way back, opting to eat in the parking lot on the hood of the car, and you're still sipping coke when you pull into Wayne's driveway. He lives with Dale, its the only way the two of them can afford a semi-decent place with the wages that Lyle pays them, and as you slowly roll over the driveway you see Dale's motorbike in the open garage. He must be working on it today.
When Wayne pipes up from the passenger seat, you turn and watch him while chewing the paper straw in your taco bell cup. "Welll, this has been sorta fun, sweetheart. Coulda been more fun," He gives you a meaningful look and you shake your head, but grin with the straw still between your teeth. He clears his throat, opening the car door. "But, eh, not bad."
"Not bad??" You ask, teasing. "My company is just 'not bad'??"
There's a wicked look in his eye and on his face. "... yep."
"Ass."
"Never claimed to be anything else, did I now?" With that light-hearted but very true remark, Wayne turns to get out of the car- but a crazy split-second urge has you putting down your drink and stopping him.
"Wayne?- "
"Huh?- "
When your lips meet in a deep kiss with the old bastard you didn't even know you wanted until then, you feel every nerve in your body light up. Its slow and a little dirty, and you love it. You didnt know you could be kissed like this. So when you pull back you cant help the smirk that matches his.
"... well, now I think you're company's a lil better, Y/N." You snort, at that. "What? I manage t' seduce you with that photo? Hm?"
Plot: Lesser-of-two evils prompt (because I love it so so dearlyy ♡♡♡). Basically Wayne's terrible, but Lyle's worse and actually, as it turns out, maybe you don't get embarrassed about Wayne's teasing for the reasons you thought you did??... maybe.
Warnings: Non-con kisses (Wayne), dubious consent kiss (You), Lyle having a thing for you...

"Hey, kid." Norman and Wayne approached you and Dale from behind and sat down with you both, and you flash Norman a sweet smile- even while queasiness starts to flicker inside at seeing Wayne. He was always so fucking mean to you, embarrassing you all the time purely for the fun of it. "Hey, Norman."
You try to always think that eventually he'll get bored of this very specific game he started, or maybe realise how horrible he's being to you for no reason- but you've been burned too many times by him to face him these days, even if you do try to remain hopeful.
Norman immediately starts talking to Dale about something, your job today, and you try to listen in but your ears are hot and all you can hear is the sound of your heart beating directly in them, until you feel a poke in your arm. Jumpy, you immediately turn to your right and your eyes land on Wayne. He hasn't sat down yet, so you have to crane your neck to see him. "-what??"
"Not gonna say hey to me, huh? Not real friendly." The smirk on his face seems so steady, he seems so still, you relax a little. After all, it is just Wayne. You're more then used to him; you've been working together for years! Why his cheap teasing still gets you so worked up, you have no idea.
"Oh. Um. H- " Fuck!
The moment you let your guard down, you lost. Before you could look away from him again, back down at your drink or your hands or the side of Normans head, Wayen sat down in the seat beside yours and on his way steals a quick peck from your lips. Your eyes widen and you feel a rush of frustration towards yourself. Mortification, too. You're suddenly oh so aware of the blood rushing in your ears and how hot the lighting is, in here. "Damnit!" Every day!
Somehow it's worse that Norman doesn't react anymore, and even Dale doesn't laugh. Wayne's the only one who finds it funny and you're the only one bothered. While taking a refreshing sip of your drink, you give him a swift wack.
Chuckling and shaking his head, Wayne shifts his chair closer to the table. "Sorry, honey, you're just too easy."
"I hate you!" You cry, setting down your now empty glass. You need another, immediately-
"Oh no you don't, the way I see it I'm doing you a favour, hm?~ When was the last time you went on a date, huh? I'm just keepin' 'em warm, aren't I?"
Sticking out your tongue, you shake your head and make an 'ugh' sound at that; disgusted and hot-all-over. Boiling. With embarrassment. "Oh Wayne that's awful- "
"Hehe," As you watch, he gets up from the table and fixes the waistband of his pants. You ntoce the gun there, like always, but you dont even blink over that anymore. "Anyway, I'm gonna get me a drink."
"... can you get me another one, too, please?"
Wayen gives a nod, picking up your glass and about to ask you what you had- when Lyle appears and takes the final seat at your table. Always the last to arrive; he likes to make the rest of your wait. Immediately every muscle in your body tenses up at seeing him settle in the chair directly actoss from yours but still far-too-close, and your face falls into a state of cold impassiveness. You don't want him to ever see you scared- or having fun- or anything. You don't want to stand out to him, at all.
While he greets everyone, not even making eye contact with anyone because he cares that little, you pull Wayne with one hand back down into his seat. He will not leave you here with Lyle. No.
Because yes, Wayne's an ass and unpleasant at the best of times. But Lyle scares you. When he looks at you like meat, or God forbid smiles at you, you feel your insides die away. You feel total dread at being alone with him, which is why you stalwartly avoid any tasks alone with him. You'd much rather put up with Wayne's kisses, because at least that's all it is. And... honestly, Wayne isn't terrible company when he's not being mean.
He's also the only other one of the guys who knows you hate Lyle, paying too-much-attention to you sometimes. To get to you. So he's always your scape goat.
Lyle's beady eyes fall on you, and a little toneless grin flickers at one corner of his mouth. "Y/N, nice to see you."
"Mhm."
As he starts to talk about today's job he has for you 4, Lyle adjusts himself in his seat, not an entirely different movement to Wayne's fixing his pants, but this time you have to fight yourself not to cringe. Why did he have to adjust himself after laving his eyes over you??
Your fingers tighten on Wayne's jacket, before taking a deep breath and letting go. Wayne gives you an unsympathetic thigh pat, highly amused at how uncomfortable you are with Lyle.
After a few minutes of basic run-down, Lyle takes a deep breath and starts giving out individual tasks. "Gentlemen, I want you to go find the guy. Deal with him for a while, see if you can get some of my money back from him. I'll come after you in a bit, I have some stuff to do first. Y/N," At this, Lyle tales a slow sip of what used to be Dale's drink, eyes on you the whole time. You feel like their are bugs all over you. "-I want you to come with me. Could use your help."
"Um... with what?"
"With whatever I ask you. Since when do you ask questions?"
Abashed, you lower your gaze. "Right. I just- shouldn't I be with the team?" 'Team' is a strange way to put whatever you, Norman, Dale and Wayne are together but it's close enough! You ignore the way Dale and Wayne look at eachother about it, like they want to laugh. Norman looks almost as concerned as you feel about you being alone with Lyle though; he sees the weirdness. You're glad you're not the only one, but you know that even if he did say something it wouldn't make a difference. You don't even know why you're saying anything.
Lyle's the boss, and he doesn't listen to anyone else.
But you feel like it's really bad idea, to be alone with him today. That he's going to ask something of you that... you can't do. And he's not going to like that answer. You don't know why you think that, you just feel it. And you have to listen to that intuition.
Lyle shakes his head. "No. You should be, wherever I tell you to be." With that, the conversation is over. Like you're just a silly girl being ridiculous. He sighs, rolls his eyes, and nods to Norman. "Go now, I wanna be home early tonight."
"Sure, Lyle." Norman gets up from his seat looking at you only for a moment, followed by Dale who hasn't picked up on anything, and finally Wayne- making you feel completely vulnerable. You want him to sit back down.
And all that's running through your mind. Wayne sit down, Wayne stay, Wayne insist I come with you.
Wayne Wayne Wayne.
How can you use Wayne to-
Then a thought pops into your head. Lyle wouldn't... try to fuck his cousins girl... would he?
"-Hey wait!" Before the guys can leave, you hop out if your seat and tug Wayne gently back to you, draw your arms over his shoulders as if you've done it a hundred times before, only a lottle embarrassed that Norman and Dale are getting caught up in this too, and- well- it's not like you've never kissed before.
He doesn't waste time on confusion, thankfully, happy to taste your mouth in ways he never could before through his simple little pecks. His calloused hands dig into your shirt tight and pull you closer against him, and you the anticipated build up that lead to this first real kiss causes you to Blank for a second. Forget this is fake. Before you can really think again, you part your lips for him like it's the most natural thing in the world. After all, you've been kissing this man for y e a r s, right?
A few moments later, face hot, inwardly wincing at what you did (what you know you've definitely started now. And entirely different can of worms), and confused because you enjoyed that-- you end the kiss; biting the insides of your lips out of awkwardness. Drawing your arms back to yourself. "Um- uh, I'll see you later."
"Mhm." There's the most mischievious of grins on Wayne's face but he doesn't say anything else, which is all the more worrying, as you awkwardly pat his shoulder good-bye and turn back to the table Lyle's still sitting down at alone. Hopefully that worked, at least, for all the trouble its going to cause you-
A sudden pressure hits your butt just then and your eyes go plate-sized in that same split-second.
Plot: The scene with the cop stopping them in the road. You reach a hand between the seats and stop Wayne from doing something stupid. You also kinda reflect on your relationship with him 😅
Warnings: Attempted murder references and maybe a couple sexual ones too.
You're so uncomfortable around cops, these days. Before you met these men (before you met Wayne, particularly), you were very normal! Cops made you a little nervous even if you didn't do anything-- but now it was so much worse. Because you have done things... and you don't always know the everything you've done. You try to trust Lyle that you wont get too mixed up in all of this, but thats a hard thing to do. So you try to trust Norman... but thats hard, too.
So when the cop stopped your car on the side of the highway, you slumped in your seat behind the passenger seat, chewing on your thumbnail. Dale nudges you; Gives you a 'be fucking cool' look, but you s u c k at that. The only reason you're here is because of Wayne- you're not meant for this life!!
But still, you take a deep breath through your nose and flash the Officer a sweet grin when he peers into the back seats past Norman and Wayne. You even give a little, curt waive.
He nods, and keeps talking to Norman.
You can hear the blood pumping in your ears as you score your memory for any reason the Officer could arrest you right now, but your heads so jumbled you can barely think. you're so stuck in your own thoughts you miss out on what Dale said- it sounds to you like you're underwater.
But you do notice when, a few minutes later, the cop starts coming back to the car from his and Wayne (in front of you), pulls out his gun. Eyes widening immediately, your heartbeat speeding up awfully in your chest; hammering against your collar. Norman tells him to put it away, but he doesn't.
Before you can even think, you're reaching carefully past the back of Wayne's seat and taking hold of his arm. Numb fingers squeeze him there comfortingly as the cop strolls over. "Wayne." You whisper, desperate and hopeful. He'll listen to you, you're very well aware of the unlikely effect you have on him. You don't know how, or why, but he listens to you-- when you need him to. When you're scared.
The cop is getting closer, and you watch him with baited breath as you feel Wayne stop, taking in a tense breath, then lower his arm again. Letting out an unbelievably relieved breath, you slide your nervous gaze from the cop to the car's side mirror; in which Wayne's already looking at you.
Thank you, you mouth. You try to take your hand away, but as the Cop's leaning down to talk to Norman again through the drivers side window Wayne lifts his hand to holds yours where it is; giving you a little squeeze as his jaw tenses tighter, holding himself together.
... okay. You think, nervously. Now you're basically holding hands. Its nice. Fuck- you're never going to get over this. How s o f t this terrible man is with you, how you're actually with someone like him. You never in a million years expected that you, the shyest person ever, ended up with a criminal more than/double your age. You've seen how terrible he can really be; you should have run away the first time you did. The time he almost killed someone because that someone hit on you.
You remember the scene vividly. How you didn't really realise what happened, why your butt stung for a few moments- but Wayne had; yanking you behind him and pulling out the gun always tucked in the front of his jeans. How you had to b e g him, not to shoot the guy. Even though you were mortified.
Then the blood on the floor when he didn't listen to you. Your frantic 911 call. The cops-
... but you didn't run away, for some reason that you still don't quite understand.
You remember how Wayne was smiling when the cops came; a wicked proud smile that told you he wasn't sorry at all. He grinned like that even with the cuffs on and when he was behind the iron bars, flirting with you through them like this wasn't a big deal.
... or maybe you completely understand it, you do, and you just don't want to admit it. Because admitting you like that part of him- at least when its defending you-- is terrifying.
You especially remember the gentle way he touched you before the cops and the ambulance came, cupping your jaw in one hand and telling it was worth it sweetheart. sorry. we're gonna be apart for a lil while, now, but you'll wait for me wont ya?
As Norman starts up the engine again and peels away from the Officer, Wayne's familiar voice breaks you out of your thoughts; causing your eyes to lift up to his in the side mirror again.
"'T's lucky my little sunflower was here to rein me in there, huh?" He gives you a wink.
"Yeah, lucky." Norman rolls his eyes, focused on the road.
"... Sunflower??" Dale snorts. What? You think, knitting your brows together. You like that! "More like rider. Right??" He chuckles, mortifying you with the dirty innuendo. Your eyes widen in surprise, before you hide your face in your hands, as the teasing for the rest of the ride back to Lyle begins.

Your eyes double in size the moment that Dale sheds his usual white shirt outside in the sunshine, and you know you should look away- You. Should. Look. Away! You. Should. Be. Normal. About. This! He's your boyfriend. - but you cant. "Oh- "
Next to you in the air conditioned kitchen, suffering equally from both the hot weather and now Dale- Wayne clears his throat. Doesn't bother to conceal the half-grin on his face.
... Not until Norman notices the pair of you, at least. "For shits sake you two."
" -Uhhh... " When you quickly manage to tear your eyes off of Dale, you look to Wayne for help with alarmed eyes and an embarrassed and awkward half up-turned grimace. He shrugs back; equally Caught. After half a second, you mutually and silently decide to pretend you were Not, in fact, Staring. Mhm. 'Casually', you prop your elbow up on his shoulder and flash Norman what you hope is a cool, innocent grin. Easy breezy. "... What, Norm??" act Dumb, act Dumb, act Dumb- "W- what's up? Hm?"
"Uh-huh. Yeah. What?? Y- you look a little warm. Y'need a popsicle?" Immediately you give Wayne a glare, knowing exactly what he's doing. Don't you dare leave me- "I'll getcha one. Y'like purple? I'll- I'll getcha purple."
He slips away from you and reaches safety in the freezer for a few moments, like a c o w a r d, while you set your hands so politely in your lap and shrug at Norman still looking Pointedly at you. "... um. Wh- watcha looking at, Norman?"
Norman doesn't miss a beat. "Could ask you the same thing."
" -There ya go." Thank god Wayne's back- and he hands you a red popsicle after forcing the purple one upon Norman. you take yours gratefully, happy to have a distraction (And something cool 😭 Its so hot today 😭); unwrapping it quickly and shoving it in your mouth so you don't say anything else while he sits back down next to you.
... unfortunately Wayne doesn't have a solution for your wandering eyes. When your eyes wander against your will back outside to the front lawn, where Dale's doing some weeding, Norman gives a heavy sigh, and gets up. "Its too hot for this shit. I'm gonna take a shower. You two behave."
"Em. Always?" Wayne agrees, making you have to contain a laugh.
After Norman's gone up the stairs, you give Wayne a sneaky look. "... Should we go out and say hey?"
