I WAS SO FRIGGIN WORRIED WHEN I SAW THIS PANEL because people falling from their horses like that generally leads to bad injuries. Like bad as in "paralyzed from the waist down or even neck down" kind of bad. and also can we not talk about those rocks going through his abdomen i cry
Yeah, I was following the paths of the rocks and wondering why no one was talking about them. Erwin and the guy behind him are getting hit pretty bad and there’s some guy with his head off. The shrapnel is killing these guys.
Oh god, I wasn’t even thinking as far as paralyzation. That’s the worst thing to happen in the middle of a charge because then he can’t move period.

I want to believe this, but at the same time Erwin has already been through a similar moment (when he lost his arm), and it might be getting a bit repetitive to keep him alive every single time- I hope he’s not dead, but if he is I would understand.
Story wise it feels right that it’s his time to die. Maybe not next chapter or the one after that, but sometime. Personally, I want him alive long enough to at least see that the Beast Titan has been defeated, or maybe to see the basement like he wanted so he can get some validation for everything that he’s done.
If not though, it will hurt in all the right ways because here’s this character who never got to finish what he set out to do and who has been turned into a villain in the eyes of the people behind the wall for just trying to save them.

How ironic would it be if the man were killed by trampling horses from his own plan backfiring, rather than from the actual titans themselves? That'd be pretty sad, actually...
His plan at the moment seems to be suicide distraction charge, so him going down wouldn’t affect anything at least until everyone notices that their leader is down in the dirt. By then Levi should have gotten to the Beast Titan or someone will take up the charge in remembrance of Commander Erwin. I really don’t think the plan would backfire unless the charge slows and turns around.
Perhaps it's because Eruri Week starts tomorrow, so people have been going through the official(ish) tumblr lately? I stumbled across your entry for the 2015 one and kinda just fell in love with your writing (uwu)
