Ingo woke up, disoriented and confused. He rarely fell asleep on his lines, even on days he was off, even now with his memory issues. So he was more than confused that he'd wake up... wait, where exactly was he?

It was in this haze of confusion that he finally registered that the voice speaking to him was pointedly familiar. And so was the man the voice belonged to. Ingo blinked hard, and when his vision didn't change, spoke up.

"Ah, apologies... I do not remember... how I arrived at this destination." His expression was flat, but his apprehension was evident in his voice.

With her small knife in one hand Viola crawled around on the forest floor in search of good herbs and roots. The small orc was always in need of good herbs to add to her meals to improve the flavor, or roots she could chew on or use as bait for small prey.

Crawling around in the tall grass and thick undergrowth she occasionally poked her head out from below to see where she’d crawled to, unaware that she could very well have been watched during her search for plants.

Sitting back on her heels he yawned and looked at the small bag of herbs and roots she’d gathered “Suppose it’s better than nuttin. Hope Fluffy caught summit good for dinner.” She spoke aloud to herself.

The grave was small, as there had been nothing more than ashes for them to bury. It had been many, many years since her father’s death, and yet, every once in a while, she found herself standing there looking upon his final resting place. She laid a small bouquet of wildflowers at the base of the headstone and knelt down, clutching the sword he had crafted for her in her youth.

Silently, she thought of him. Not the elf she had come to know before his death, but the father that had raised her and loved her and spoiled her rotten. The elf he had become towards the end was not the elf she had sworn her Oath to. If she had known then what he would soon become, she may not have sworn in the first place. But as she pondered him as she knelt at his grave, she found a renewed motivation to press forward and uphold her Oath, it was one of the main reasons she still came here.

She did not hear anyone approach, but turned and stood as she heard her nephew speak. “It was a long time ago,” she replied, shrugging off his condolences. “I miss him, yes, but I miss my father, not the elf he was in the end.”
