this whole chapter is just fucking PAIN, i'm ill and crying ↓ i just read it right now, like seconds before answering this- because i meant to read it yesterday, but i got swamped in schoolwork and ended up reading WHA

i simply don't believe you. -> these aren't faces you make for someone who 'isn't anything'. you don't agree to train someone from the ground up if they're not 'anything' TO YOU

"I just wanted to see you... one last time to say goodbye." -> 'We... aren't anything', but you wanted HIM to be the last Furin face you saw before leaving? okay. OKAY. sure

"Bye, Nire-kun." -> 'We... aren't anything.' but you still use the nickname you gave him back when you first met? Mind you, NO ONE ELSE HAS A NICKNAME FROM HIM

i thought, for sure, that Sakura and Suo were going to be the two to fight- physically. So the fact that it's NIREI squaring off against him, and the parallel of master and student, is gut-wrenching

What the fuck. Honestly i don’t know what i just read, it’s insane. I have so much to say but no idea how I’m gonna put it all into words. I already knew suo was an asshole, and being an asshole is one thing but this??

When nirei saw suo, immediately, he fretted over him— worried, and concerned. This is his first time seeing his friend after nothing but radio silence for 3 days straight, and finding out he lied about where he lived of all things.

But the very moment nirei saw that suo was fine and well, his eyes softened so fast. This part honestly made my heart warm, he’s so cute and he just cares about seeing his friends okay, at that moment he didn’t really care what he had been doing all those days, because the important part was that suo was okay.

NOW…

What gives you the right to make nirei make that sort of face? And to dismiss all the moments they had, all that they’ve went through, all that they’ve cared— to nothing?

It wasn’t even the face nirei was making in that moment that got me, it’s the way suo was just so cruel. He really, really didn’t care. And despite me knowing that this is probably just him trying to get nirei to hate him so it’ll be easier to leave, i still can’t accept it. I don’t know when, or how, but somewhere along the line i got this idea in my head that if suo were ever like this, it wouldn’t be directed towards nirei, or just his friends in general.

Even upon seeing how hurt he is by the news, suo’s smile only leaves his face when nirei doesn’t let him leave.

My jaw was literally on the floor the entire time, because what??

What do you mean he made nirei look like this and he doesn’t care? What do you mean that he’s really about to fight nirei? What do you mean the two of you aren’t anything??

I didn’t think he was capable of being so cold at all, despite what we’ve seen.

Dismiss all of nirei’s efforts, dismiss your friendship, dismiss everything else with that stupid fucking smile.

And i keep on going back to, ‘oh he’s only doing it to distance himself.’ Like, i get that but he’s just such an asshole. He wiped the smile off of his friend’s face so fast, and he didn’t even bat an eye.

Nirei’s been losing sleep over him, and he still doesn’t care.

I was just so lost. I wasn’t sure how to react at all. I literally went through 3 of 5 stages of grief 10 times over, i kept rereading the chapter over and over. And nope, thats really it.

And at first, he looked like he really cared. The switch into all of this was so jarring, it shook me. I might actually be sick from all of this holy shit 😭

There’s still no way. I still cannot believe this. I knew suo had to be at least a bit peeved at nirei figuring out one of his secrets, despite it being as simple as a dislike of natto, it’s probably more than that. The fact he found this thing out and he’s still curious and wants to know more. But i didn’t know it angered him this much.

ultimately, i can’t say it doesn’t make sense. Suo seemed to have done a lot to make sure no one knew a thing about him, to make sure his entire life was nothing but a mystery, and nirei found his way past it. Though i don’t know how suo was surprised, nirei’s nothing if not persistent.

Yet, even after all of this, this boy is STILL never convincing me he doesn’t care about his friends. I don’t care, theres no way.

If you really didn’t care, why’d you bother getting so mad on nirei’s behalf, huh? Can someone please tell suo that friends like knowing things about friends??

You aren’t fooling anyone, but you’re still an asshole and you deserve to get your ass beat. I cannot wait till it happens. I also wanna talk about how suo’s such a coward for this, and how some of the earlier chapters may’ve hinted at this, but I’ll save it for another post. 😒

Alright gang I have a few theories on wbk chapter 209-10 (plus small rant abt it)

Okay so either

That's not Suo. It's someone who looks exactly like him like an identical twin or something or then like something unhuman disguising itself as him (I doubt it's that second one tho cuz I don't think those exist in the wbk universe)

He's being forced to say that and it's lying through his teeth

It was a dream or something where Nirei just imagined it and none of that actually happened (I have my bets most on this one)

Secret forth option where he's also lying and didn't mean anything he said because I refuse to accept he did until I am directly proven wrong in an upcoming chapter.

It literally wouldn't make sense that he said all that unless he was lying because like fym "we're nothing". "WE'RE NOTHING" MY ASS. It's so clear Suo cares a lot about his friends especially Nirei and Sakura. It shows through the small actions and expressions he does when he's around them. If he didn't care about them he wouldn't do all that. There would be signs of it being fake if it was.

And don't even start with "Maybe he wasn't lying and he's acc been faking caring abt everyone up until now" NOOOO ABSOLUTELY NOT I'M NOT LISTENING LALALALALALA

Suos line of "We aren't anything." and the way he tries to deflect the connection he has to furin with logic, saying "- Just a guy who happened to be in your class.-" is reminding me of Mr Ito and his fear that Yui was unhappy in their relationship. If i can figure out how words work im gonna analyze the hell out of the suo and ito parallels
