Nirei is literally the most annoying useless character in wbk. He is just there
I wonder why i got an ask like this?? I donāt think Iāve mentioned Nirei being my favorite character more than one time on here?
Personally, I like Nirei because I feel heās very brave despite what little physical strength he has, and I think that all of his bravery makes up for the lack of it. Also, for all the things heās been through, he still remains kind and caring towards everyone. All the little quirks he has and all the minor details are also something I love about him! I think that how this person described him is how nirei might describe himself.
Feeling useless and inferior is something that Nirei struggles with, and I also like to wonder whether or not he views him and his questions as annoyingā especially after the latest chapters. And talking about the ājust thereā thing, Nirei probably feels so irreplaceable. Like he doesnāt matter and his presence makes no difference to Sakura, Suo, or even Furin for that matter.
UGGGHHHHHHHH I reallly reallyyyy wanna write more about this, and when I have the chance i wanna do a deeper dive into Nirei as a character. Heās just so cool to me and I love all the headcanons iāve seen of him as of late!!
GOD that ājust thereā feeling is something I really wanna capture in my writing. š Maybe a fic where he starts to fall deeper and deeper into his thoughts, and he starts thinking that all his friends think that same way about himā and then maybe at the end of it, one of them assures him that itās all in his own head, and his thoughts donāt correctly reflect how his friends all feel about him.
Though honestly, Iād like a fluffier version of that as wellā maybe Nirei expresses his feelings of inferiority to maybe Kiryu or something, whether it be just a slip of the tongue or something heād been keeping in for a while and just blurted out, after that, the whole fic would be about making Nirei feel wanted and lovedā (not that they donāt already, but to make him believe it as well.)
THAT WOULD BE SOO CUTE OH MYY GODDDD I cannot get enough fluff. Also, this next idea is more of a personal head canon and projection,ā Nirei and Suo sitting down together, and Nirei expresses a feeling of being sort of like a spectator of humans. Something that he can see, watch, and even sometimes commentate onā but never, ever, EVER be apart of. And while Nirei is ranting and expressing this thought to Suo, heās staring down at the groundā not being able to meet suoās eyes. After heās done, heād let out a sighā then heād realize Suo hadnāt been speaking or responding that entire time. So he looks up, and when he doesā Suo is just looking at him dumbfounded, but also empathetically. Then heād say something likeā

I LOVE ALL OF THEIR FRIENDSHIPS AND WHAT NOT. ALL OF THEM JUST BEING REALLY GREAT FRIENDS MAKE ME SOOOO HAPPY.
the closeness, and utter understanding that they have of each other makes me wanna sob. š And AFTER Suo says that, Nirei only doubles the rantingā finally having someone to share sidelines with. OH MY GOD āSHARE THE SIDELINES WITHā I LOVE THAT IF I EVER MAKE A FIC ABOUT THIS IāD REALLYYY WANT THAT SENTENCE TO BE AT THE END.
