Goldenflower taking Bramblepaw into the forest before his first gathering and twining flowers into his pelt. “I used to do this to your father, when we were apprentices,” she mews,” My mother would always tell us it’s ‘family tradition’. I hated it so much, you wouldn’t believe! But your father, well he-”. She chokes up, tears welling in her eyes. She’s twining a beautiful orange flower into his fur, her paws determined despite their shakiness. “He loved it. He used to insist we did it every gathering. And we did. Every gathering, every assessment, our warrior ceremonies. He even got all pretty before he met you and Tawnypaw in the nursery for the first time”. She’s crying now, her voice filled with love for her son. “Your first gathering. I can’t believe it. It feels like only yesterday you were asking Tigerclaw for badger rides around camp”. She lowers her paws and sniffs him over, correcting any loose petals. “Oh where did that beautiful cat go?”.

“And from this day forward, you will be known as Brambleflower. Starcaln honors your bravery, and they welcome you as a full member of Thunderclan”. Goldenflower leaps to her paws, yowling out her sons new name, tears welling in her eyes as he stands so proud. He looks so much like his father! Goldenflower observes. Brambleflower scrambles over to her, dislodging some of the well twined flowers. She was to over-joyed to care, nuzzling the side of his face with her muzzle. “I’m so proud of you!”.

Brambleflower makes it tradition once again to twine flowers into his kins’ pelts. Jaypaw, Holypaw, and Lionpaw royally love it. Holypaw always gathers the most crimson colored flowers she can find. Lionpaw helps Jaypaw pick out some beautiful blue petals, along with his precious bluebird feather. Lionpaw always seems to find the exact same flowers Goldenflower would put in his pelt. Brambleflower always tears up at the sight of his kits, flowers twined in their well-groomed pelts. “I don’t think i’ll ever see you this happy again!”, Squirrelflight mewed.

“Squirrelstar! Squirrelstar!”, Brambleflower yowled. His mate, his mate, the clan leader! The fire-like flowers twined in her pelt so beautifully he felt tears break through his eyes. She was so comfortable up there, leading Thunderclan. He was made deputy, and he almost felt unworthy. Squirrelstar insisted on having flowers twined into his pelt aswell, though he stated that it’d be to obvious. “Nonsense”, she had purred,” You deserve to look pretty!”.

“Alderpaw! Sparkpaw!” Brambleflower yowled his kits names, tears streaming from his eyes. The flowers in their pelts were being rubbed off by he and Squirrelstars’ ceaseless nuzzles, but he could care less.

This is what Goldenflower meant. This is where that beautiful cat went.

Nightsong is the baddest bitch ever I love her!

I’m glad you like her! I tried to put some personality in her with my tags and posts, and I hoped it worked. She’s very laid back, but is also loyal to her clan and is willing to defend her family from others. The betrayal genuinely hurt because, at the end of the day, Tigerclaw was her brother. Mistkit dying hung over them like a dark cloud, and both wondered about the “What If’s”. They had a good sibling relationship, and she even told him to ease off on Ravenpaw, and he’ll grow in his own time. Constantly degrading him won’t work, and giving compliments can go along way for his esteem.

When she found out the truth, she was horrified that Tigerclaw went that far. Was that all of an act that he put on? Did she miss any signs, and if so, could she had prevented it? Then anger. He tried to justify part of it, saying it was “all for Mistkit”. And remember, Rosetail was her mentor. And he was the reason why her second mother figure was dead because of Blackfoot. So many died because of his ambition, and his anger at Pinestar, who “went out to scratch the signpost and never came back. It seemed like he was trying to get back at the world. And if that whole Gorsepaw / kill all half-clanners is a thing that still happens? Boy...

During his exile, she actually had to refrain herself from flinging herself on him and ending him right then and there. Whatever family ties they had was nuked from orbit, and both knew it. She was there to help Goldenflower with Bramblekit and Tawnykit, including fought anyone who glared at her niece and nephew or whispered about “bad blood”. She tried not being hurt being called the traitor’s sister by others, but some got to her. Fireheart and Deerleap being there helped her from going to some really dark places in her mind.

Despite this roadblock, she’ll get past it. Yes, it hurts still that her brother is a villain, and is rightfully hated. But he made his bed, and she will never join him in his tyranny. Some might still look at her with suspicion and contempt, but Nightsong will know that she is not Tigerclaw, and if they can’t see that then that’s their fault. Not hers.
