Things from her past came and went, whether it be in smells, senses or just memories that drifted away the moment they appeared. It's what has keep her going in an sense, just trying to live and survive to the best of her abilities. Sooyun kept to herself, even when out in public to mingle with the locals, or just walk among them.
She always found herself being about the parks throughout Jeju Island, coming during the hours when peak tourism was scarce and the trails were bare. It became time for Sooyun when she needed to be alone, away from the salty sea and next to the fresh water rivers that reminded her of that little river she called home. The rivers that flowed within Hallasan held such a cold crisp when she touched the water, it brought memories of the winters near Geum when she would visit the villages in search of sweets. The water around her hand moved the current under her finger tips, watching the small fish swim in a circular motion until she heard steps coming up from the trail.
Sooyun soon stopped her menstruations of the water but did not leave its side. She figured it was either a hiker or one of the park rangers making sure people were getting off the trail since evening was approaching. It was only a glance she gave the man walking on the trail and didn't pay much mind of it until the water brought her pack to the past, telling her to look again. This time she sighs and turned to the man and by his outfit he was a park ranger, "Good evening---" The small smile that was on her face froze and her body rigid the moment her full attention was on the other.
Centuries ago there was an Imugi she encounter here and there as he was much older than she with the Geum River also his home. Though the last memory she had of them was when she hid in the water, watching him cry in pain as hunter did what they do to her kind. She remembers trying to push waves onto the hunters but her powers were weak, she was young, eventually running away when others came in her direction. It was one of the first times she even realized how in danger her kind were.
But now here she was in shock seeing a man whose face is etched in her memories as if he had come back from the dead. Sooyun wanted nothing more than to think it's just someone with similar features and it has triggered her emotions because now she has tears streaming down her face, not knowing if she should run or jump in the water for a faster get away. "Fuck. Sorry! I was just thinking of some stuff. I-I'll head home soon." Sooyun tried to smile out the tears but it was too much. The last thing she wanted was to blow her cover and make nothing out of something. It can't be him, it can't.
