Kiff Creators Developing Second Animated Series At Disney TVA

Nic Smal and Lucy Heavens are Developing Second Animated Series At Disney TVA.

Kiff creators like animation and like us they want more, during the Speakers info at The International Cape Town Festival, it was revealed that both have a second Disney show in early development.

The best part is that this new show seems to be for Disney+ instead of Disney Channel meaning that maybe Disney+ will finally get to make something for the service by DTVA that is not nased on any pre-existing property like Monsters At Work, The Wonderful World Of Mickey Mouse, Phineas And Ferb Movies and Darkwing Duck.

Lucy is the series co-creator (along with her partner, Nic Smal) and executive producer of Disney’s Kiff, a comedy series currently in production with Titmouse for Disney Channel. She and Smal also have a prime-time animated comedy in development for Disney+.

Nic Smal is a writer, director, illustrator, animator, storyboard artist, comedian and musician with over 15 years experience in the entertainment industry. He is currently Co Executive Producer and Co Creator of “KIFF”, an animated series in production with Disney TVA in Los Angeles. 

Nic also has a second, prime-time comedy project currently in development with Disney TVA for Disney+

Netflix Executive Bryan Noon Joins As CEO Of Walt Disney Television Studios

Former Netflix exec Bryan Noon has been appointed to the role after the departure of Craig Hunegs earlier this year. Hunegs joined Disney in 2019 but left six months after a major restructure changed his role.

Noon, who spent eight years at Netflix, most recently as VP, Original Series, overseeing the streamer’s business affairs team, will report to Walt Disney Television Entertainment Chairman Dana Walden, who called him the “exact right executive” to lead the team.

He will lead the production and business affairs teams for Walt Disney Television’s content brands.

For animation Bryan will oversee the creative aspects of 20th Television Animation for the creation of current and future “young adult animated series” & “adult animated series”

Ciro Nieli Unveils Never Before Seen TRON Animated Series Pitch

According to Ciro Nieli after Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! ended in 2005: DisneyTVA asked him to pitch a TRON series sadly the project wouldn’t work out. but the pitch went great!

Also according to Ciro, Disney asked if he could pitch a animated Power Rangers series when Disney owned the brand in the 2000′s

After robot monkey ended, @disneytva asked me if I wanted to develop Power Rangers or TRON as a tv series. My Tron pitch went well but ultimately it wouldn’t work out. My initial idea was a reimagining of an original pitch I had called POWERCADE about 2 kids who inherit electrical powers and a strange energy creature named GLITCH.
