Can I gush about my husband for a minute??? This man...lord!!
Friday he went on a camping trip to scout out where he'll be turkey hunting later this year. Plan was leave early Friday, hike with his 60lbs bag to where his camp was going to be, set up camp, do a little bit of scouting, then come back home early Sunday. He has been looking forward to this trip for MONTHS and I was so excited for him to go.
...then midday Friday I had my doctor's appointment and got the concerning news about the baby. I told the doctor where my husband currently was and asked if I should pull him out and she told us no. As long as I followed the rules I would be fine on my own until he came back. I messaged him on his SATCOM/GPS device telling him what was up and that he was NOT to come home but make sure he had his device by him at all times in case I needed him. 30 minutes later I get a message from the device from him telling me he was on his way back to me.
This is where he gets even more impressive. After spending the morning hiking 12 miles with a 60lbs pack to where he eventually made camp, he then hiked approximately 6 more miles doing his scouting when he got my original message. He then immediately hiked back to his camp, re-packed everything. Then hiked the 12 miles BACK to his car with his 60lbs pack. By 4pm he was in his car and on his way back to us in Orlando. This man hiked over 30 miles in one day to make sure he was by my side in case I needed him!! OVER THIRTY MILES IN THE AUGUST FLORIDA SUN!!!!😍😍😍😍
He did the equivalent of a marathon plus some extra miles all for his family. 😍😍😍
Yeah...I got a good one. A DAMN good one.
My dear fetus growing inside of me,
QUIT YOUR SHIT!!! I AM SO FREAKING TIRED OF PUKING!!!!
See you in October.
XOXO,
Mommy
To whatever decided that humans should puke all their guts up while pregnant......ya mom's a hoe.....
That moment when you realize your dog is the animal version of yourself...
1) We both are madly in love with my husband
2) We both whine when not given enough attention
3) We both use a girl for our hair named Ashley
4) We both are masters of the "I'm judging you" face.
And finally...
5) We tolerate our species so as to get attention from another species (I am nice to people so that I may be able to pet their dogs. She is nice to other dogs in order to get belly rubs from their owners.)
So I got 2 THICK envelopes from my health insurance company. My first thought was, "Here we go...let's see how much this ankle is gonna cost me."
Turns out they were both for my yearly gynecology appointment. How the heck do you expect people to get control of their health when a yearly check costs over $500.00 without insurance???
I say this in no way trying to belittle the talent of my doc, I've been seeing her for over 10 years and she has helped me so much with everything, even things not normally covered by her speciality. I moved 30 miles away and still see her because she's that good of a specialist. Heck, I think she's happier about me getting married and now seriously talking about babies than my Dad. There has to be a way to take care of patients and adequately reward the talents of our medical community at the same time.
The opening paragraph of the Declaration of Independence states that men are entitled to certain inalienable rights: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Without the access of affordable healthcare how can we as a nation honestly say that we still hold ourselves to the standards of our founding fathers?
Simple: We Can't.
You wanna make America great again? Then give everyone access to affordable healthcare. If I have to pay more taxes so some 20 something kid in New Hampshire can get the insulin he needs to survive, so be it. I'd rather go without getting the newest phone if it means I don't have to scroll through ANOTHER GoFundMe for a 50 year old granddad in Oregon trying to afford Prostate Cancer treatments, because he put off getting things checked out earlier because he had no insurance.
I don't have the answers, I don't know how we go forward...but....we're better than this and we have the brain power in this country to do it.
It's not a Republican thing and it's not a Democratic thing....it's just...it's just a humanitarian thing and I think that's what we need to get back into thinking like..
"What can we do to improve the human experience."
