A cryptic (pun unintended) and unexpected message from a mutual
It’s been a hot minute since I posted here, but I’ve had this idea in my head for a while and I’m glad I could finally get around to drawing it!
So I’ve been playing around with cover art ideas for the first book in my series We Are Cryptids and came to this as a finished product. I’ll defiantly end up making more variants to choose from, and I sure as hell have time for it, but I was very happy with how this came out and how forbidding it is!
I’m not fully certain of the book’s name, but for right now it’s labeled as Asylum Seeking. It might stay, it might change. We’ll see!
But anyways, this is the stories main character, Piere Lefort. He’s a very sweet and caring young boy, and I can’t wait to share his story with all of you!

Hey guys! Long time no see! Also happy pride month! Sure has been one hell of a hiatus, but I’m back baby!
I saw this drawing trend going around and was inspired to participate with my own characters, Kiren and Piere. I had a lot of fun with this and might do another one vice versa because they’re both gay disasters.
So I haven't even written this scene yet, but it's been stuck in my head all day yesterday and I needed to get it down in some way or I wouldn't have been able to move forward with any of my other projects. I’m really happy with how the sketch came out, and I might expand on it further, but let me just put this into some form of context so it’ll at least make some sense for you guys.
Kiren, who’s the fish boy, has been waiting for over a week for his best friend Piere to wake up after a near death experience that Kiren may or may not blame himself for. He’s been waiting bedside the whole time waiting, and even though the doctors have told him on several occasions that he will wake up, he still worried he might not.
The scene takes place late at night, and it’s just super quiet and bathed in a range of dark blues. A window is open and the sound of crickets and a heart monitor are the only sounds filling the room. Just another sleepless night.
So I recently got an iPad so I can do art on the go and did a test drawing with Kiren! I’m playing around with his design a little bit and I kinda like this better? I’m still not sure with the larger eyes for him, but I’ll have plenty of time to mess around with it. Anyone following along with Caged Bird so far, be on the look out cause I’m planning on updating it with a bunch of new chapters soon!
I’ve been caught up in so many different projects lately, and it’s taken forever to get around to editing, but I have a LOT to post! Comments and feedback on the story is much appreciated! Thanks to everyone for taking some time to check it out!
Here’s a little drawing of Kiren from a scene I wrote recently! I have a lot of stuff written past what I currently have up on Wattpad that still needs to be edited (but hopefully I’ll have that all up shortly!)
