10 of my favorite characters?
Hmm, then let's use characters I've yet to post about.
When variety is offered, I rarely choose the popular option, so when Vocaloid took over the internet I didn't want to jump on the MikuMania or RinLenTwins2Win trains. And then I saw her, a short-haired, tropical melon tomboy. Somewhere in my house there is an SD card from my first phone, full of nothing but art, music, and MMD videos of my Flygon gijinka diva. And Heaven help you all if I ever find it!
The Vtuber craze never really hit me, I could scroll past clips and shorts without a care. But there's this... thing. A chaotic neutral little gremlin that somehow activates my paternal instincts. Why do I want to adopt it, feed it Gran-Gran's recipes, tuck it in on a full belly, and kiss it's forehead goodnight? Truly vexing, this creature.
One of two characters I'd describe as an absolute bastard in the most endearing way. His antics almost distract you from the fact that he went from a grunt to outmaching a troop of royal knights almost single-handedly. A king amongst humble men.
Araragi Koyomi (Monogatari Series)
Two of two characters I'd describe as an absolute bastard in the most endearing way. Today's harem protagonists would shrivel up and smolder next to him for the heat coming from the two suns in his bag of holding.
Hibiki Ganaha (IdolM@ster)
Kind and fun, adores animals, happy sun child vibes. I don't know how she made me love the color turquoise when I prefer warmer colors, but out of the whole cast I always caught myself looking for her.
Best chemistry in the show, without all the guilt and baggage of Yukino and Yui. The BEST case of "Popular Girl x Unpopular Boy" that never was, and we're worse off for it.
SSS-Teir Character development. Calm, cool, and collected, the gold standard of the refined older brother trope. Sesshomaru leaped so that Vergil could fly, and every franchise has been trying to bottle his finesse ever since!
Holo The Wise Wolf (Spice&Wolf)
Taught me to use logic and clever wit in place of emotion and spite during one of the harshest times in my life, and I would not be an accomplished member of society otherwise. In terms of fiction, she's the biggest contributor and closest example to my adult personality. "You get your personality from a weeb character hur dur?" Yes, yes, all the jokes; if a person can't be shaped by their heroes then they either have a deplorable mind, or no mind to speak of in the first place. Don't speak to me or my fictional god-mother ever again.
Kirisu Mafuyu (We Never Learn)
Culture. No, I will not be elaborating further.
