and i HATE that im not far enough into tgf to have proper thoughts on it (im only on i think chapter 4- the one called morphine lollipop)
bUT i was thinking of one common thing i know stan and theo have both done (stan doing so badly, theo probably also doing so badly) and that is shoplifting
and i can't get the idea of them shoplifting together out of my head

thats FINE !! i last read It like three years ago lmao and i'm riding off of that & watching the movie (which seemed p faithful other than mike's backstory? and like all of ch1 was a Weird direction to go for an adaptation but WHO AM I TO JUDGE !!) also my favorite chapter of tgf is ELEVEN believe me i know this book is long and difficult to read. i think donna tartt's writing is p magnetic and easy to read a lot of but theo SUCKSSSSSSS and some people can't stand listening to him whine. all judgement reserved i know i'm the odd one out for liking fucking awful narrators 😔
theo is a shockingly good shoplifter lmao. world class art theft @ age like thirteen! he's not a Bad Thief he just freaks tf out about it and catches anxiety every time he's around a person so he tells you he's really bad at shoplifting. he is LYING :D

ok ok so steo shoplifting would go basically along the lines of them going shopping for something together (knowing them its like. basic fucking necessities. maybe stan catches on to the fact that my theo (being vegas!theo from the book) is superrrr malnourished and is like. !!! :O we must get you food white boy!) but they're both highkey broke so they're like "whats he gonna do when i can't pay" and sideyeing each other the whole time. and then they both stick shit under their arms. sideyeing the whole way. they get out of the shop walking like that one lin manuel miranda meme and make it like 10ft before they both crack up and show each other what they got. cuties!!!!!
meanwhile, billy is going "that's technically illegal" while blushing his brains out (was it just him or did stan look soooo cool walking out of that store with stolen goods under his arms?) (it was just him. and theo) and boris is going "but potter that is our thing!!! >:0" and then looks at billy, mimics his stance, and loudly says, "CANNOT BELIEVE YOU ARE SHOPLIFTING!! IS CRIME!! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS POTTER. THOUGHT YOU WERE UPSTANDING CITIZEN" (he gets mobbed by theo, stan, and billy before they all have to sprint from the shop owner. do not help him he is right where he wants to be)

An Update on NSoE
Yeeeeah so I'm pretty aware of the fact that I've taken a pretty extended break from writing the Nothing Short of Everything series, with There For Summer dreaming ending in January and posting the oneshot in February. Then real life stuff happened, i.e. my wedding.
I'm committed to continuing Phen's story and have made some progress in the next fic. No clue when I'll start posting because I like having my backlog ready for routine updates, which does put unnecessary stress on myself but it be like that.
Honestly, I have had spats of writer's block but I've been combating that with planning future projects and spitballing ideas with friends who have been absolute gems.
But it has also led to this
A full timeline of events is being crafted for continuity because the next fic got incredibly deep and has become far more than just fluffy romance because I keep putting Phen into Situations.
There's probably more I'm forgetting to mention but my inbox is open if anyone wants to fire a question my way. I'm super excited to see show off the work that's being put into the fic and cheers to @tea-cakie and @id-purpose for helping with the next chapter of Phen's journey and beyond.
