ayyo! i hope it's okay to request a fic like the previous one where kate & reader are together and peter has a crush on kate and keeps trying to get together with her, but instead of kate being flirty with peter, she decides to confront him and tells him to "go f himself" bc she's not at all interested and is in a happy relationship with reader. thanks :)
Heeey, I'm SO SORRY it took so long to write this. I'll be honest, I just wasn't really feeling like writing more Kate after writing two consecutive fics with her, but then my game update came out and suddenly I'm in a Kate Bishop mood again.
Anyway, just keep in mind that the reader has Weapon Hex's powers for this fic (If you don't know who Weapon Hex is, she is literally a mix between the Scarlet Witch and X-23). So, basically, Y/N is Wolverine powered but also has Scart Witch's magic.
That's it, hope you enjoy it!
With Great Power...
âIs that a new haircut? Your hair's looking beautiful.â You heard Peter ask and you fought off a groan.
You liked Peter, you did, he was a nice enough guy, but since you introduced Kate to the team, the spiderling had been hounding your girlfriend like a vulture.
Kate forced a smile on her face, her eyes still on the field in front of her, on the men shooting at you. âThanks, I washed it.â She said, making Yelena and America snort.
Contrary to you, they didnât like Peter, but at least Kate was still polite enough not to show it to the world. Yelena and America, on the other handâŠ
âParker, concentrate!â you yelled, pulling Kate away from a stray bullet and shielding her with your body. âAnd stop distracting my girlfriend! Unlike me, her fucking skeleton isnât made of Vibranium!â
Yeah, you were pretty much physically invincible, as well as magically enhanced, Hydra experiment and all that. But Kate wasnât and you were one comment away from using Peter as a bowling ball to knock out all those goons shooting at you.
âSorry, miss Y/N,â he said sheepishly. He wasnât sorry at all, the fucker.
You were slicing your enemies left and right, keeping a close eye on Kate all the while. Your claws glowed red with magic, you could feel everything around you, your senses working like a radar.
You heard one of the men groan, and then another, and another. Yelena was knocking out guy after guy using nothing more than pure skill. If you were honest, there was a tiny part of you that was more than a little scared, after all, if she could do all of that with skill alone, what would she be able to if she had powers? You shuddered just thinking about it.
To Yelenaâs right, Billy was using his powers, his bluish magic was the opposite to his motherâs, yet just as strong. Then there was Peter, swinging around and using his webs, America, punching everyone left and right, and Riri using the full power of her iron suit, blasting dozens of men at once. And then there was your best girl, using her arrows beside you.
Until the fucker had to distract her again.
âHey, Kate, look how cool this is!â Peter said, and proceeded to use his webs to gather a lot of goons together, tie them into a ball and send the rolling into the nearby bay.
It was⊠admittedly cool, but what was not cool was the yelp that left Kateâs mouth as a bullet was shot at her arm. Blood started painting her uniform, her wide eyes were full of a mix between fear and surprise. The men you were fighting took notice, they all aimed at her.
âKate!â you yelled, jumping in front of your girlfriend.
It was almost like time stopped. You felt your magic surge from within you, red wisps of pure rage exploding outwards, the bullets stopped mid-air, nobody dared to move, the red glow surrounding your claws grew stronger.
âShe ok?â you heard Riri ask America, and then, as if awakening, your magic pulsed, rolling off in waves from you, taking with it all the remaining goons. You retracted your claws, your breathing shallow. Kate, you had to make sure she was ok.
You turned around just as she was walking towards you. You took her in your arms, pulling away just enough to look at the wound in her arm.
âDonât worry, babe, itâs just a scratch,â she said, breathlessly, but you could hear the remnants of the scare in her voice. But, just in a Kate fashion, she tried to deflect, using her good arm to pull you closer, hugging you, bringing her mouth closer to your ear, and whispering âThat thing you did with your magic was pretty hotâŠâ
You pulled away, looking at her worriedly. âKate Bishop, donât you treat this as if itâs nothing!â you said.
This was your fault, you were this teamâs leader, if anything happened to them it was on you⊠You knew Kate would disagree, sheâd say it was Peterâs fault, which it was, but you were the one who chose him to come to this mission.
âKatie!â as if your thoughts summoned the devil, Peter came swinging in your direction, landing by Kateâs side and putting a hand on her shoulder âIâm so sorry, I didnât think this would happen, are you alright?â
You let go of Kate then, taking a step closer to Peter, your magic still raging around you, your eyes red, your claws itching to come out. âI told you not to distract her.â
âB- but, I-â he stammered, but there was still defiance in his eyes.
You grabbed a fistful of his uniform, bringing him closer to you. âParker, Iâm warning you, start acting like a goddamn responsible hero or youâre out!â
Peterâs eyes widened then, the defiance you saw before was magnified tenfold. âWhat do you mean out?! You canât kick me out from the Young Avengers! I- I worked with the original-â
âI donât fucking care you worked with the original team, this team is under my command, which means your stupid actions put my team in danger, do you get that?â you used your other hand to poke at his chest, your strength was superior to his, so you saw him wince each time your finger practically punctured his chest, âYou put my team in danger! I swear to god if Tony hadnât been so fond of you Iâd have your powers removed instead of just kicking you out.â
Peterâs eyes widened even more, he tried to take a couple steps back, but his super strength was nothing compared to yours. âW-what?! You canât do that! Thatâs not even possible.â
âOh, it is,â Billy said, trying and failing to suppress a shudder âMy mom taught her how to do it.â
America looked at you then, eyes comically wide. âWanda Maximoff taught you how to remove peopleâs powers?â
You didnât answer, you were too focused trying not to kill Peter Parker. Reluctantly, you released him. âIf you donât learn some goddamn responsibility youâre gonna be kicked out of this team. Thatâs a promise.â
You took Kate in your arms and flew to the compound.
âYou sure youâre ok?â you asked for what felt like the hundredth time, your trembling hands caressing her uninjured arm. It was your fault she was in this bed. It was your fault she was in the med bay.
Kate smiled and used her good arm to pull you down to her, kissing you slowly, lavishing your mouth with hers, saying words of devotion without having to pronounce them. âIt was so worth it to see you chewing Parker down like that.â She whispered against your lips, resting her forehead against yours, but then she noticed your inner turmoil, because of course she did, she always paid enough attention to you to notice when you were feeling down. Her expression turned more serious then, her hand coming to your cheek. âThis is not your fault, Y/N.â
You shook your head, kissing her again, trying to drown the guilt in her, in her taste, in her scent, in her life. âYouâre incorrigible, Kate Bishop.â You pulled away, not addressing what she said about it not being your fault. You knew it was, period. âI love you.â
âI love you too,â she mumbled, her nose brushing against yours.
A small smile made its way to your face when you heard her whine at the loss as you finally pulled completely away.
âCalm down, my needy baby, Iâm going to bring you something to eat. Stay here, the docs havenât cleared you out yet.â You said, pointing an accusing finger at her, making her laugh. It was magic, her laughter, it was everything good in this world.
âYes, yes, mother.â She said, biting her lip at the sight of you lifting a single eyebrow âOr should I say mommy?â
You growled. That little minx. âYouâre playing with fire, Bishop.â
She smirked âSure hope I am.â
You laughed and reluctantly turned around. It didnât take long at all for you to go to the closest bakery and buy enough food to feed an entire army, though. Kate had an amazing body (and you could tell, youâve seen every inch of it), but she sure could eat like a starved lion. Her appetite, along with Yelenaâs, was fucking out of this world.
âOhh, is that food?â
Talk about the devil.
âYes, and itâs not for you, Belova.â You said, smiling at her pout. Yelena was one of the few people whose presence could relieve the heavy weight you carried on your shoulders.
âWhyyyy?â she whined, making you laugh âI like food.â
You shook your head, fighting off a smile. âWere you shot today?â
As soon as the words left your mouth you felt guilty once more. You should have protected her better. Not just her, you shouldâve found a way to make sure your team would come out ok.
Yelena looked at you for a good minute before replying, as if she was studying you, analyzing you, dissecting you.
âI was shot at!â she answered then. You thought sheâd answer something along the lines of what Kate was saying earlier, that it was not your fault, but instead, her words only made you laugh.
âShut up, this is for Kate. Though⊠I can actually cook something for us later. What do you say, girls' night?â
She smiled that blinding smile of hers. âYeah, Iâll get America and Riri. Your room?â
You nodded and turned to go back to the med bay âMy room. See you there. Oh, and get the things ready for us, will you?â
âItâs always âget the things ready for us, Yelenaâ, and never âhere, Yelena, I made you some really good smelling macaroniâ,â she mumbled and you laughed once more.
âYou and your obsession with macaroni.â You rolled your eyes.
âOh, and Y/L/N?â she called out, looking at you from over her shoulder, her voice taking a more serious tone âWhat happened today was not your fault. Get that into that thick skull of yours.â
You smiled at her, a real smile, and nodded your head in thanks. Your best friend was just like Kate, she seemed to know just what to say when you were down.
When you finally got back to the med bay and your eyes landed on Peter Parker giving flowers to your girlfriend, you felt your power surging from within you. The amount of self-control you had to exercise was astounding, your eyes turned red, your claws itched to come out. When you saw him leaning over her you were about to intervene, fuck it he was a Young Avenger like you, fuck it if he was your teammate, you were going to kick this little shitâs ass for messing with your girl, but then Kate used her good arm to punch him in the face.
âDonât you dare to kiss me! And I donât want your flowers!â she practically yelled, her own eyes wide, she wasnât used to being rude to anyone âI donât want anything to do with you! Iâm sorry, but I donât like you!â she said, you could see the exasperation in her eyes âI have the most beautiful, strong girlfriend in this world, and sheâs fierce, loyal, attentive, and she loves me to a fault, why the fuck do you think Iâd ever betray her for a kid like you?â
âB-but weâre all around the same age!â Peter said, eyes as wide as hers.
âYeah, but while weâre all relatively new to adulthood, youâre still very much a kid. Y/N carries the weight of this whole team on her back like itâs nothing, sheâs our leader, she makes most calls, which means itâs on her if someone gets hurt, do you know how tiring that is? And yet she never complains, she deals with it like a pro, but you? You risk my safety, your safety, and the safety of the whole team just to impress someone whoâs not even slightly interested in you! That childish, thatâs irresponsible, thatâs honestly ridiculous.â
At each word you saw Peterâs deflate a little, his shoulders falling, his demeanor changing completely. He seemed desolate. Good. He needed to learn, sooner or later.
âJust⊠Leave me alone, Peter. Weâre teammates, weâre colleagues, nothing more. I donât want to have to deal with you outside of our professional necessities.â
Peter turned around, you could see his eyes glistening. As he was getting out, you were getting in. His eyes met yours for a second, full of disdain, as if you were something ugly to look at.
âYou won,â he said as he was passing you, not loud enough for Kate to hear, no.
You, though, didnât worry about that, you stopped and turned to him, your red eyes were ice cold. âI didnât win anything, Parker. Kateâs not an object to be won, besides, if there ever was a competition, you were never even in it. She never liked you, not even as a friend.â You said and turned around to go back to your girl.
You just hoped one day, Peter Parker would learn that with great power, comes great responsibilities.
