Not the most sensitive of quotes to use for a power name... but with this sculpt-error figure, it's unintentionally hilarious. "Brain-damaged"? More like "brain-missing!" 😅 I'm torn between asking WizKids if they'll replace him, seeing if anyone wants to trade for him, or just using the dial as sculpt-swap fodder with a spare movie Drax. I'm baffled that he and Gamora from this set don't have the #guardiansofthegalaxy keyword, even if giving them the "Origin: Before the Guardians" Trait would make them heck of OP. #Heroclix #AvengersInfinity set release day! Here's #Thanos with the #InfinityGauntlet (swipe for close-ups!) He's once again only a rare, but powered and valued like a super-rare (as in his last appearance, 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy comics set). His optional traits are intriguing—once I come to a decision on where in your opponent's attack step you (Thanos' controller) have to choose to activate his "Come Get Me" Trait, I wanna give that a try. It looks good, but I don't know if my dice are ever hot enough to make it fifty points good...! I pulled this guy at my prerelease a week ago, but left him in the booster in favor of a more "fun" team with the Spider-Buggy. 😜 Then I pulled a second one today when I hit my FLGS to pick up my pre-ordered brick. #Transformers #HeroClix crossover #latergram: #QueenBee vs #Bumblebee. This #TitansReturn #LegendsClass 'Bee has been a favorite of mine just for how enjoyable he is to fidget with. I dig his chunky proportions in vehicle mode & the big stompy feet they produce in robot mode. Queen Bee (rare from #HarleyQuinnandtheGothamGirls set last fall) is the version from Grant Morrison's Justice League run, which defined my DC Comics fandom as a teen, so that's cool. A week between #HeroClix OP Kits means another "swap meet" event at my venue—everyone brings a rare, then at the end everyone chooses a rare from the pool in placement order. Great turnout last night meant this pool of ten figures: #Marrow, #Broo, #SpiderMan (#BenReilly), #Makkari (of the Eternals), #NegasonicTeenageWarhead (original comics version), #DrHollyQuinn, two #Prometheus-es, #Icarus and #Angel. There were a couple in here that I wanted & don't have—Broo, primarily, with a little Prometheus—but sadly, mine was the life of a judge again. More #SnowDay #ToyPhotography: #HeroClix #KillerFrost, from #JusticeLeague #TrinityWar in early 2015. Never really cared about this character until #TheFlash on TV. Had a great afternoon of casual #HeroClix games with a good friend, capped off with this #Cosmic theme team for a 500-point "pieces you've never played before" match. I pulled #TheCollector and #MentorofTitan (one of the #Eternals, somehow?) from 2014's #GuardiansoftheGalaxy set out of my trade box, then added #Ayesha (the golden start-of-the-movie version) from #GuardiansoftheGalaxyVol2 and #Yarnek from #StarTrek #AwayTeam #Theoriginalseries. Collector's been collecting dust for a couple years because his special trait seemed too complicated, but he really pulled his weight (thanks in large part to a crazy streak of luck on Shape Change rolls)! #Mentor pretty much rode Collector's coat tails, but I'm hoping he's more desirable to trade away now that Eternals are in vogue (hi, Uni-Mind!). Ayesha was great for the points, and Yarnek's plus-attack area-of-effect trait offers some very fun tactical potential.
