The location she has set up for their meeting, a hotel, now stood mostly empty. It was a colonial architectural, monstrosity that had surely seen better days. Business had been booming in the 20’s but had dropped dramatically as new buildings continued to be erected. As the world continued to move on, building around it, the, hotel had lost its appeal. Now it hid in the shadows, a hidden jewel waiting to be picked up and polished again. Perhaps it was why Carmen liked it, the secluded nature and yet opulent feel of the place. The location was secluded enough that she didn’t need too many of her agents keeping an eye on the place, and it was not so decrepit to fall below Carmen’s usual standards. Perhaps her companion would appreciate the lost splendor of the locale.
She sits at a round table in the cleared out restaurant of the hotel, every precaution has been taken I order to ensure that their conversation remains between them alone. The moment she notices her guest arrive, Carmen lifts herself from her seat, a bright smile on her face as she welcomes her guest. “Ah, thank you for joining me, Miss Elisa Alarcon. I’ve been eagerly awaiting your arrival.” Without hesitation she inches closer to her guest, giving her a slight hug and kiss on the cheek. “Please sit down.” Carmen points to the empty chair directly across the table from her own, a simple gesture of her hand commanding the remaining agents to disperse. “I hope my invitation didn’t take you by surprise- with your talents someone was bound to pay attention sooner or later.”
