Not my usual kinda post, but if you're looking for placeholder assets when coding, building an artfight character page, or whatever else, check out my collection of free-to-use assets!
Can't find what you're looking for? Make a request! Color palettes, aspect ratios, designs; its all free game, as long as its generic. Link below :D
do you have any tips on learning to code. I wanna learn but geny i love you don’t know how 😭
wish i could give u tips but im also still learning and i also need tips LOL
but so far!!! idk . one way that clicked to me is dissecting site templates (in terms of web coding, of course). download free html or css or even js site codes and play around what each line or tag does, what happens if u remove it, what happens if you add another, all that jazz. you can also look up random easy tutorials and try it out!
the most reasonable tip would be to actually learn the basics but uhhhh my brain cannot hold information so trial and error is what works best to me haha
but if anyone else has any good advice/tips to beginners like anon and i, please share!!! because i'd appreciate them a lot .. sobs
Dude, I gotta get back into making homemade, made-from-scratch websites again. I haven't played with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and all that yummy stuff in a long time. I really wished I followed my mind and took that up as a major back when I was 19. I really loved those courses. Not saying I regret HR or anything because HR is super fun for me (well, recruiting takes all the brain cells lol) but web development felt like it tapped into my artistic feels a bit more.
I mean, guys, do you know how FUN it is to make custom-made buttons and banners and backgrounds?! To create a customized layout to look like your favorite website from back in the late 90s?!
You could make anything you wanted. If I was a bit more knowledgeable in security coding, I would make my own social media site. Don't worry, if I did, it wouldn't be politically toxic and any of that nonsense like some others. Yuck. If anything, it might be an art social media site. BLOCK ALL THE AIs. SHOOT EM DOWN.
Beth: [age 12, doing homework] "I really hate algebra. I mean, nobody ever uses algebra in the real world."
Me: "Are you kidding? Algebra is used every day in science, construction, all kinds of things. I tell my web coding students that programming is basically just algebra."
Beth: "So you need algebra in web design?"
Me: "No, not necessarily design. Just in programming."
Beth: "Well then, I'm never learning programming."
Me: "Don't tell my students that."
Beth: "Oh, I'm not saying programming is not important. I'm just saying I don't want to do it. Make sure you teach your students really well so they're really good web programmers, because I'm probably going to need them someday!"
So, as some of you may know, I created a Twin Flame Support group chat on here last April because there were a lot of spaces on the Internet I saw for Twin Flames that were either too expensive or too focused on Separation, and I wanted to create a space that was free and catered to Twin Flames from all walks of life and stages.
I have come to the realization, however, that this format for the group is incredibly disorganized. I do know a little bit about website building (but not much about coding, ‘cause I've only started learning on Codecademy recently, and I haven’t even gotten to JavaScript), though, so I've started building a site for the purpose of having a more organized space with a place for resources, a forum area for peer support, the ability to make certain members admins/moderators, etc. - all free of charge to the members!
Despite all of this - plus the fact that I have one - I don’t really consider myself an expert on Twin Flames (and it doesn't appear that anyone in the group chat knows a lot technologically, either), so I was wondering if anyone here who has a lot more expertise would be willing to help with providing information and resources on Twin Flames, and maybe writing for the site as well (also, I'm not exactly sure which sorts of resources would be best to put on it, because there's a lot of conflicting/confusing information on the topic out there)?
And if you or someone you know who has a good understanding of web coding either knows a lot about Twin Flames or has some sort of interest in the topic/phenomenon, please let me know!
Writers will have their names put on their writing pieces, and web developers will be credited on the team page. Writers who wish not to be credited will have “Anonymous” next to their work and nothing more than that, while web developers who wish to be anonymous will simply not have their name show up on the team page. If anyone has any suggestions for giving or not giving credit, let me know in a reblog or reply!
Thank you for listening, and I hope you have a great day!

So my wonderful sister, gem that she is, let me go crazy and re-design her blog because she saw my post about my coding obsession that has currently hit. Her interests are steampunk and dragons and she likes metals and golds.
This is a before shot of her blog zoomed out to 75%. Please notice how ugly it is.
This is an after shot of her blog also zoomed out to 75%. Please notice how much less ugly it is.
I altered her blog going off a Tumblr Official theme because those side-by-side grid posts have always drove me crazy every time I had to check her blog. I went through about half an hour of trying out backgrounds before deciding on a map esque background with some steampunk vibes.
The header itself is a transparent dragon since, you know, dragons, and the header text is a sort of quote from Optimus Prime because she likes transformers.
@thespiritofcliffhangers I was tempted to replace the word ‘Megatron’ with ‘Trump,’ but figured ‘Evil’ would work just as well.
Here’s a zoomed in view of the webpage above the fold. I’m not totally happy with the text color in contrast with the background, but the text shadow helped.
I also changed the post wrapper to better match, but, again, I’m not fully happy with the readability levels.
Overall, though, it was fun to play around on and the sister has approved with a, “Snazzy.” so my coding urges are sated.
I decided to update my webpage on our site to have decorations. I put Demencia and 5.0.5 on there alongside some plane stock-images. It looks much better on desktop than on mobile, but I'm happy with both results! I might add other stuff to my page later
