I've been drawing more lesbian aircraft!!
This one's very different to the titular starchaser - bigger, bolder and tougher.
In the setting me and @sparklenaut are working on, this kind of aircraft is a Bruiser - a large, heavy plane utterly bristling with fighter-grade weaponry. It presents itself as a deadly threat to attackers, and an easy target - given that its big and slow. This allows it to soak up attention that would be more dangerous if used on more delicate or mission-critical craft.
Bruisers are very hardy too - theyre built with a lot of redundancy and very loose tolerances. This reduces their performance and efficiency but means they can stay airborne with substantial damage. The one above is an example of a relatively unscathed Bruiser.
A bruiser requires the kind of pilot who's utterly calm under pressure, even by the standards of other fighter pilots. A bruiser pilot who holds back, or flinches, could compromise the entire mission.
